Well it's not really new but I have not been able to post much lately. Started going to school for web design after all the frustrations with my website and I am buisier than I have ever been with this so its a little hectic now.
The trailer has already paid for itself, I have gotten a lot of jobs from just stopping at a gas station or getting lunch. Worth every penny!
How will a enclosed trailer hold up to the chemicals ? I was thinking of going that way for a trailer, to keep everything out of the elements when I would need to park it outside, instead of in the garage. But, from what I gather about the chems and the chlorine gas, it will eat right thru the steel.
I have a rubber floor down and other than a few minor spills the chems dont really get on anything. Open the vent and both doors and there is plenty of ventilation for the very short amount of time you spend in there. I love it personally.
School for web design??? Just like the guy who wants to clean his own roof I feel compelled to ask you at what point is it worth just paying someone to design it for you???
Most of us are small businesses here, well in fact we all are. ( I am using wall-street standards here, many business doing 60 million a year are still considered small, large is over 500 employees) But I try to look at fortune 500 company models for insperation and potentially lofty goals. The top CEO of any company dosn't know how to do alot of things that are required for their companys to work. It would be impossible for one person to know all those things....
Most of us in this industry already have to be accountants, salesman, inovating euntrepenuers, technicians, repair techs, marketing execs..etc...etc...etc....
Lets take a page from our own book. We always talk about the do it yourselfer. I know it is a neccesity sometimes, so if you already hired a few people and it didn't work out then I understand. But if not, hiring a web guy to design your site has to be cheaper than design school. Not to mention the time restraints. If you do well, you might want to do web design as a business as well. It has to be way way easier than cleaning, and low low overhead in comparison.
While being frustrated with my website is what got me to look into going to school its not 100% of the reason I'm going. I got really sick my senior year of high school and missed a lot of time, there was only about 1.5 months left of school and I was pretty much on my own at that point and wasn't mature enough and I decided I didn't want to make up that ridiculous amount work. So I dropped out. So I wanted to kind of get that monkey off of my back so to speak. I am also majoring in business as well. I don't really see the problem in trying to better prepare myself for the future. While I'M doing pretty well with roof cleaning now (about 10-15 a week) you never know what will happen in the future. I'm fairly young still (27) with a family (3 kids and a wife) and I just want to create as many opportunities as possible to put food on the table.

Then rock on Bro. Continuing your education is always great, I was only concerned if it is taking away from your chance to do more business. Thanks for your response. I hope you didn't think I was being crass, that was not my intention.
And business school/education is a definite bonus to anyone!!! Thats great man, good luck!!

A moving billboard that what you want. Companies pay big bucks for people to drive around with advertisment on vehicles. Also what i`ve found it`s great when your canvassing a neighborhood when you walk up to a door they already know what your going to talk about & it ain`t AVON. Kipp
Good looking van pics too. I am having some magnets made for my doors on my truck, some long ones for the bed, and one long one for the tailgate. Will post pics when they are done.
