hello to everyone, this is my first post.I've been cleaning roofs for 5-6 yrs now and after finding this site, and talking to Chris T. IThink I'm missing the boat. I have been using sodium hydrxide and the power washer to clean. I am really interrested in mixing some apple cider sauce but dont know of a good source for sodium hypochlorite(I live in Springfield, Ohio--Shingle shine roof cleaners). Also Would like some tips on equipment-pumps, hose, tanks, and what you need to do as far as protecting any landscaping / gardens.

Thanks to anyone who would be willing to share what they know and help me to get restarted

Here is a start to finding Sodium Hypochlorite.
http://www.univarusa.com/facilities/iview?OpenView&RestrictToCategory=ohio&count=200

Not sure how close they are to you or try a pool supply store near you for 12.5% pool shock.

Do a search first for anything you need to know about setup. The answers are here. You need to read first though then ask and the answers will come.

Tim,

Not sure of the size of your town. Look in the yellow pages under pressure washing and or Chemical suppliers.  Do some calling around and follow a few of the links such as univar as mentioned by our man from St. Louis.  My supplier is about 10 miles from my house and delivers 55 gallon drums for$137 each. It is recommended that you only keep enough SH on hand to last 3 to 4 weeks and to keep it covered as it will start to breakdown/weaken. Enjoyed talking to you over the phone earlier today. Call any time if I can ever help.

Scott

Where is Springfield? The best start to find SH is to follow the link to Univar above and go from there. As far as equipment it depends on what you want. The Fatboy from pressure Tek in Cleveland is a great pump to start with, or to continue using which I do ( I love it).
