It's pretty cheap, you should buy a bottle and run some tests. That's part of the fun of discovery.

yeah it is fun im just worried about the bleach destroying a customers roof as im limited to test subjects. Im kind of a hypochondriac about stuff like that but you have to be in this business and taking care of other peoples houses.

Pressure washing and / or brushing in my findings (and the boards findings) does create premature damage to the roof. I have seen it over the past 11 years and 7 years while running a roofing company. It is my goal to preserve the roof. Sometimes that is not always a quick fix but rather in the best interest of the customers roof.

I promote roof longevity which is what everyone is after. Pressure washing and brushing is not productive to that line of thinking. According to the ARMA roofing manufacturer bleach or SH is part 0f a solution to clean the shingles. It does state that there should be no pressure used. In my opinion brushing can cause similar wear.

I have tried many approaches to roof cleaning since 1986.  From my humble experience I have concluded mixes such as apple sauce and apple cider and working from the roofs edge or from a high lift with very little to no pressure offer  my customers  the safest most responsible option. Ask the board some questions and provide a free test spot for your customers and close the deal. Good luck my friend send me a message if I can ever help you out.  Many folks certainly have done the same for me.

It is better to refer to this as "free DEMONSTRATION spot"
Test spot is an uncertain term.  Hey, we know it works,...so advertise it as such!!

Would you be able to offer a free service to a neighbor/associate who has an out building of some sort? Preferably a small one, so you won't lose a lot of time/materials, etc. That way, you could test the product and provide some good PR in your area. 30 seconds doesn't look like it will severally damage a roof, the main question is will it be profitable to use. For the roof owner, the worse that could happen would be a mildly cleaner roof instead of a completely clean roof.

Has anyone else tried this?

Jesse of Roof Cleaning Portland:

The MINIMUM DWELL TIME is 30 minutes but actually more like 1 HOUR for the cleaning agent to be of best effectiveness.

It normally takes this amount of time before the result you are desiring will be most apparent.

Now if you are treating for MOSS, I would suggest 1-4 weeks at minimum and a possible retreating at the time of roof checkup.

You seem hesitant about this MAGIC mixture of APPLE SAUCE/CIDER and to be careful is good. The info you are JUST learning about, however,  has been in USE for at LEAST two DECADES at minimum.

The way you are coming across is like "prove to me this works" and that is because you have read or heard information or more appropriately, mis-information to the contrary from others that should not be offering advice unless they have had ACTUAL advice based on hands on experience in the methods outlined throughout this board.

I will not convince you, nor will others here on if or why to use our methods.

Jesse do yourself a favor and free yourself and keep in mind the of the thought of getting out of old roof cleaning habits and stepping out and trying something.

What may be new to you is not new information.

The info contained is based on a thought or concept that may be new to you but has validity so actually, will have to Confirm what we teach here to do that yourself.

We KNOW what works and would not post countless posts and info that would be to the contrary.

There is no smoke and mirrors like on some boards and in some methods of roof cleaning.

What you see is what you qet. I really hope this helps you.

Hi Jesse, I ran tests and posted the results on the board to show what I learned about apple cider sauce.  I have never tried 30 seconds, what is it made of??   Search and read brother, and enjoy your experience at the RCIA.

When used correctly bleach will not hurt the roof, this is what the people who sell other products that require damaging pressure use as an argument to bash bleach.

Got the MSDS for 30 Seconds cleaner. It is essentially Apple Sauce, most likely much weaker too. I don't know how those guys get away with saying it is "bio degradable".

LOL!  They are making a killing off people who don't know any better.

30 seconds costs $19 gallon.

That's about a 1000% mark up or ten times what we pay.
