Another thing, Can anyone register and give false information on who they are and their location? Some thing should be verified,maybe even come up with a umber or a limit of how many companys we will have from one area. Would it be fair to help the " FLIM FLAMS " crowd or over take a area causing a bad rep fro roof cleaners?

I don't think I have had the pleasure of saying Hi and Welcome to the board James, So Hi and Welcome.  I liked this post you wrote and Fairly well agree.  I agree that all people who want to learn this should be sharing and part of the community.  I also want all fo you to remember when you started and how hard it truelly is!!  We need not shut out all people just because they may be new to the industry or doing it wrong, that is to my understanding why the Admins of this forum started this forum.  We want to teach people the right way but we also want to avoid scammers, con-artists and fly by nighters.  There is a clear difference between the 2.  One is geniunely concerned about their customer, their company, and their community.  The others all have special signs that show what they really are.  No, this info might not remain free to everyone, but lets try our best to make it available to those who will help our customers understand that we are the proper pros for the job, that our methods are top notch, that our community of pros are responsible and conected to the right information to get the job done safley and effectivley.

This is one reason why I am not with Google Ad Words (PPC)  Fraudulent clicks! Really! Roofing companies and the other roof cleaners would just kill me.  150 clicks and no ROI. In less than 2 hours at a time. Everyday! Just a hefty bill. Now understand that most roof companies have a secret fear of my / (our) services here in Memphis. In fact roof cleaning is a dirty little secret. Most roofing companies hate my living guts literally. I have for the most part received great calls of the few made to my company number from this forum. Not only members but non roof cleaners / pressure cleaners here in Memphis etc... Oh yes some real deal companies as well “from the forum.” But a lot from wanna be information theifs!  Flim Flam Arttist who have the gaul to ask me to tell them all of the knuckle bleeding hard learned secrets of my success.

 

Trust me guys they are here. Why would this forum be any different from any other?

On the other hand got quite a few from pressure cleaners or so called, who wanted information from me about what kind of chemicals I use to " please tell me how your process works to. Can I come and innocently watch you do a job so I can learn your process...etc...etc..etc...

  There are allot of wanna bes' that are just itching to click this forum dry!  Registration would at least validate in some part. A commitment to the forum.   Not just proprietary information grabbers here for the taking. Would also continue to validate the RCIA Emblem and what we are all about on this forum.

I remember when I first started. The only way I learned was the school of stupidity and hard knocks.  This forum is great for interaction and learning but again it actually took about 6 months for my light bulbs to come on and for me not to screw stuff up on a regular basis. LOL...  Trail of teras! I paid my dues! Eight years later I do not just want to give it away to some Yocal stopping by for a visit. 

In Memphis there are basically three bonified companies, Exclusive Home Services Of Memphis being one of them.  The rest are renegade wana bees running around with pump up sprayers and back packs calling them self roof cleaners..

Same thing happened to the carpet cleaning business. Lots of rookies running around with $800. dollar portables without a clue to the real knowledge of carpet cleaning. Anyone can buy a portable and call themselves a carpet cleaner. Same with the roof cleaning industry.  It could happen.. There are now over 350 so called carpet cleaning companies in the Memphis area. About 2/3rds of them suck and badly! Just mess up the local business and give the carpet cleaning industry a bad rep. Oh yeah, I clean carpets too. 800 lb. truck mounted unit.

Of course the rookie renegades make it hard for the real deal companies in Memphis like myself because they give us a bad reputation when they screw stuff up and then do not take care of the customer complaints and concerns.

Yes. I my opinion this forum should be for registered users and bonified roof cleaning opporations. Yes, we should be an informational forum for the real deal roof cleaners. Not an easy mark for wana bees looking to acquire tid bits of information just to be able to call themselves roof cleaning professionals.

Then again the wana be flim flam artist should be weeded out an monitored. They can only damage  the industry and make it more difficult for all of to make a great living professionally. 

This is a great forum. Great people post here. Those not registered should not in my opinion be entitled to this privilege. Step up to the plate and register. Lets see what your made of. Want to be called a roof cleaner. Post so we can all enjoy your company and know that you are professionally real.

This is a professional forum for professional roof cleaning professionals!

Before i start this message i would like 2 say Thank You! to all that have shared their sweat pain and time lessons to all of us newbie trying to start a survive out here. I remember talking to Chris of apple roof cleaning on the phone and he simply told me about the site and all of brother are here to help. I toke that to the heart because theirs not many others out their willing to help like the RICA. I'm going to  be honest i haven't made my first payment because of lack of funds but i feel if we have to pay to keep us!!! Who claim to be part of a brotherhood then thats what we have to do! Also i plan to share my way of a setup, ways of cleaning, and techniques whenever i finally get started. We as people need to get pride back of showning are differences which makes us all different. I'm  in the saving process i'm starting from nothing but the lint in my pocket and i read these post most of you have to it bring joy to here of your success but like not what the RICA did to get you there and how it helped advance some of you vet's. THanks AgIAN! 

I think you'll get a lot of support on this Chris and besides the sopport theres nothing wrong with100.00 donation to be a member and then a annual 100.00 some may say screw you but most here would not be in this business if it wasn't for this forum !

I thought that the poll you posted was 90% in favor of a closed & paid forum? If this is the case then you should close the forum to registered members and have an annual fee. If people are serious about roof cleaning they will go through the registration process and pay a fee without hesitation.

As for my posts I only post on subjects that I feel are beneficial to the forum. I also don't want to just ad posts to boost my status without adding positive feedback.

I believe in helping however I can and that is why I made a donation when you posted the poll.

Just my thoughts.

 Right now 50% of the people watching right now on this site are guests and most likely will stay as guests and this % will increase as time goes on, ever notice when someone is on the ground and needs help how many people stand there and look and only a few help, well thats what goes on here , i call them LOSERS i'll help anybody that needs help and thats what we're here for is to help each other and not just look .

You guys DO reealize that when we close and move to a paid ONLY forum, we will lose members ?
SOME will not pay, and we will lose them ?

If their serious they'll stay, if not theres the door people spend money on a lot of BS things and if thier serious about a business a few bucks won't hurt . how many people have all the cable channels , nice car, ipod, etc., etc, and pay monthly. Hey just pay a few bucks a.month after lets say a 25.00 sign in fee and then 10.00 a month, please thats not hard just charge a customer 10.00 extra

I agree with closing the forum. I think that we could share more info and keep the lookers out and keep the purity of the trade.

Charlie i would like to hear why you think that we should not close the forum.
