Has anyone ever talked about galvanized pipe boots. You know, The ones that turn brown once detergents, hit them. I have seen many before and after photos with brown pipes, and as most of you know they weren't brown before the cleaning. I Would like to share tips on that if anyone has any. We have figured it out some what but it can still be aggravating on roofs where walking is not involved.

Yes, I've had that problem before.

Wipe it down good with a brush on an extension pole with a little phosphoric acid works well.

If you are on the roof, just don't hit the pipes.
If you are not on the roof, you will have to get on the roof to solve the problem.
I use sulpheric acid and then rinse.
But, as long as I have to go up there anyway, I just avoid the pipe areas and go up and chemically clean the area and avoid the pipes.

I don't think most sprayers can get around pipes without getting some spray on them. Also houses we do are not always small and they are not that walkable. but for smaller homes i guess that is a good suggestion. thanks.
