Google..... "air diaphragm pumps". You will see and understand the simplicity of these. No bypass or anything, just an airline in,.... with a suction and discharge hose.

Yes, that setup will work fine for starters. Just make sure your hose is the right size, and the nozzles as well, when using 200 ft. of hose.

How far do these pumps (5850, fatboy, kv-038, and yamadah) on average spray the chemical. I have read that most of the people on here try to spray from the ladder. Just trying to figure off their reach.

I have sprayed the 5850 and I get about 20-25' without strong wind but remember that is a straight stream, not a fan pattern spraying the roof.

If you want to spray the roof from the roof edge you will typically use a lot more chemical using a straight stream than if you walked the roof using a fan pattern and getting good coverage.

I am not sure how far the guys can spray with the fatboy but I think that it would be about 30-40' and the air diaphragm pump will probably be similar but since I don't have either of those pumps don't quote me on that.

Does anyone know if the electric "fatboy" or any electric pumps have an adjustment on the pump for either pressure or rate of flow. I know the air compressor type has one. It is just an idea and I am wondering if anyone can tell me if it will work. What if I put a ball valve at the entrance of the wand and still use a lance with a nozzle. Will the ball valve act as an on hand pressure regulator?

I'm currently using a 12v and switching to an air pump. I will tee in the air pump feed and keep the 12 v as a back up. My set up is hard piped with 1" pvc. Will I have any issues now that I'm running an air compressor? With my compressor discharging 100psi of air, what does that translate to fluid discharge through my pvc? I'd appreciate any feedback.

WOW, this is allot of great information. I just got a Delavan 5850 with 200’ of 5/8 hose. I am glad I can use this to start out with. confuse

I always clean out my equipment after I use it. If it does break it won’t be from being dirty. You take care of your equipment, it will take care of you. Thanks for the great info.

That is so true! A local company here in town told me sure flo pumps are the best. I of course bought it cause i needed it. 135 and in 2 weeks it didnt work, I got all the way to the job everything laid out go to fire it up and nothing! Note, I used it the day before and always flush out my stuff. Long Story short i took it in and they beched tested and then asked me what kind of chem I was using to him chlroine runs through it and they told said that eats these pumps up! I said you told me that was fine and what it was designed for. Lesson learned.
