I took a day and went to check some roofs i had cleaned, the problem i found at each house was that everything was **** right where the water would come off the roof?not the whole bush just a line right in the middle,i had a ground man and i know he water them nonstop!!!!!!!what else can i do or change to keep this from happen again.we have been watering before ,during and after?i also made him start watering before i even get the hose off the trailer.
Thanks

Covering them would have worked. If there aren't gutters you will probably have to cover more often than not. Even though they were kept wet the roof probably dripped even after you left.
Watering continually mostly helps the ground and the roots. Doesn't take long for the leaves or flowers to dry after the watering stops. And if the water dried and the roof kept dripping....

From my experiance I am shocked you had a problem with a ground man. I am figuring the house also didn't have gutters. When Myself or the ground man are watering it's a nice semi strong mist and it's constant working with the run off, you have to be jockeying back and forth.I also have left the hose running in the bottom of the drain pipe for awhile, the water follows the same path the solution ran and I have never had a problem. If you cover with tarps water before during and after. Also water the tarp keeping it cool not to heat up the plants. Rinse tarps before removal and drain toward house foundation, carefully remove tarps so they dont " DRIP " leaving dead spots as you go. All in all if you have gutters I like Mike Sullivans idea of duct taping green bags to the spout of the pipe catching the over flow and disposing of it in a safe area.

Here are some reasons. TOO strong a chemical roof cleaning solution! LIGHT Rain soon after you cleaned the roof Your ground man didnt water good or fast enough OVERLY sensitive plants Leaking gutters TOO much run off Low Water Pressure/Flow
ALWAYS use at least a 5/8 garden water hose, better yet, use a 3/4 water hose from mean green hose
IF house water pressure is weak, SLOW DOWN, and watch your run off.

In general, the chlorine / water solution should run about 35% chlorine, tile roofs sometimes require 40 - 45% I started out with a 2 man operation and we honestly made every effort to water well, still, there was always a small amount of dead leaves, when I checked back a week later. Now, we cover "dry plants" with tarps, keep the tarps cool with water every 20 minutes or so [I get down off the roof and wet them down] I also usually run a hose under the tarps to saturate the ground with pure water. When we remove the tarps, we dump the catch water/chlorine mix and dump it toward the house wall [foundation] We either bag the downspouts or run a hose in them on low throughout the job and then also rinse out the gutters, until it's all pure water coming out. Another thing we do, is run sprinkler heads [the kind you stick in the ground and hook a garden hose up to] over the higher bushes that are not easily tarped, or over plants and bushes on houses with gutters all around-just for overspray. I haven't had a problem now in a very long time! Thing is: more time and effort go into protection, than into cleaning a roof!

Yeah I would guess strong solution or excessive runnoff, are you rinsing after you apply?? Try just leaving it on for the rain to take off the SH will be extremmly weakend after a few days in the air.

Well said, Chuck! Safety and protection of Plants, Landscape, Bldg. Materials and pets will be the primary objective and 1st order of duty besides initially rolling out.
any plant right under a valley runoff, we leave the hose on first while were setting up, right at the root of the plant. flood it real good. then you can either cover it with a tarp or if small enough push to the side a put a garbage can right next to it. the flow usually comes off in a pretty good stream tht you came position the can right under. at least while you are first spraying the detergents up there. after that your fine during rinsing due to the fact that its so diluted. hope that helps some.

This needs to be discussed more. After 24 hours most chlorine has evaporated leaving SALT. IF this stuff seeps off roofs - or is rinsed off with a LIGHT Rain - you get browning.
If you want ZERO problems - tarp it all and rinse like all heck with tarps on ? Then pull tarps and rinse some more - being CERTAIN to FLOOD root zone of ALL plats. GUESS what ? Grass is a plant too
When you rinse like this - be sure to allow an hours dwell time to be SURE all spores are dead.
OR - tell the customer THIS.
"Mr Customer - I just cleaned and treated your roof - I want to leave the treatment ON so the roof will stay clean as long as possible - here are the pros and cons of doing so - What shall I do" ??
90 percent of the time they say "I will KILL you IF you shortchange me by rinsing MY treatment off MY roof"
"WTF did I PAY you all that money for - To have my roof get dirty FASTER so you can come back and Clean it again"
