L@@K-PRINT THIS OUT-Chemical/Material Compatibility CHART-Important Reference TOOL!

I have researched this for the NEWBIE and VETERAN roof cleaner alike, so, it will be easier for you to compare hose, wands,fittings,o-rings,ball valves, nozzles, pump small parts, tank materials, hose clamps, etc.

SAFETY FIRST! Know your material and chemical compatibility. It will cut down on leaks, shortened working life of equipment, explosions from mixing incompatible materials/chemicals, and can even SAVE you money by the right materials and parts rather than wasting money on parts and equipment that will break ,rot or corrode with improper material/chemical ratings.

All you guys should know how to determine if a product or part or piece of equipment or ANY material will INTERACT chemically with Sodium Hypochlorite, TSP or Tri Sodium Phosphate, Alcohol, Boric Acid (Borax), Surfactant, etc.

See page 23 of this handy printable booket to see the SPECIFIC ratings and comparision for the chemical, SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE, SH or "THE LOVE" as we Roof Cleaners like to affectionately refer to it as.

I really hope this helps you guys to get your HEAD around the chemicals and materials, compatibility of the roof cleaning trades.

COMPLETE CHEMICAL / MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY CHART

All the best in your business and roof cleaning trades,

David W.

confuse   David ,I must say you are always there with information and THANK YOU ,what i do as a newbie is make a copy of the chemical chart and keep one in your truck so before you buy something you can check if its ok with SH and also keep a copy of the chart in your computer . Sometimes i do see a difference in ratings between Viton & EPDM one chart may say A rating and another chart may say its a B but its still a high rating . Thanks again Vinny

I try to keep "bringing it" Vinny,

If not me who? confuseyawn

Actually, there are a LOT of great people here and on other boards who tirelessly try to bring us ALL useful info that helps better our business and life.

It's nice and makes you fell good to try to share with others in the trades.

This site/blog is for the distribution of information.

Years ago we had a much bigger but grass roots movement called MENTORING, but it was usually shared one on one.

Now, with the internet, the distribution of information reaches a much wider audience.

As you know, higher learning institutions charge TENS of THOUSANDS for that Priviledge.

The working man still needs to update and add to his knowledge and expertise.

That is why I post what I know and what I learn and come across in my research.

I want to do my part and give back to the world and the internet and to some of my peers, both veteran and newbies alike so that I can give, share what I can and learn as well from the others here and on the net that have also helped me to educate myself on the many things I am still learning or am not fully aware of.

Hoepfully you can post many useful pieces of information here as well.

Dig in Vinny, knowledge is power and we all have something to contribute and share.

Just start where you are, with what you know and share your expertise.

Your efforts may just make or break someone's plans, save them money or help them build a better rig.

Who Knows?

Keep Posting biggrin

Your Welcome,

Creative Images :)

My Friend! Anytime YOU or ANYONE else here on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America needs help, just type in your question or problem concerning roof cleaning here on the RCIA and MOST EVERY TIME, one of the regular members can usually handle your question or concern.

Using the SEARCH feature works most of the time, but other times there is nothing like a human being helping out another struggling, person to make setting up this roof cleaning equipment, business, marketing advice, etc. in one-on-one interaction, real time to keep each and every one of us encouraged that we are on the RIGHT track.

Again, Thanks for Saying THANKS :)

It goes a long way, to extend a genuine THANKS! once and awhile, when some of us that are veterans in the business, spend a lot of our "off-time" reading , educating, researching, the roof cleaning info we give away here on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America.

It's guys like you that keep us founding members, humbled and glad to share our expertise in the roof cleaning trades.

Have a GREAT Day!

David

For anyone who has not read this, do everyone a favor and read it now! I have heard some serious horror stories about guys mixing up concoctions and special blends that are not compatible with one another. Safety is of the utmost importance in this industry.
