WHAT if I were to tell you I have uncovered a little known surfactant that will FOAM or GEL the Roof Cleaning Mix if you want, that is TOTALLY Chlorine Stable, and MIGHT be able to obtain WITH a scent for CHEAP. WOULD you be "Interested", LOL Of COURSE you would ! Well, That is EXACTLY what is going down Samples will be sent to me within a couple of weeks! This stuff is AMAZING guys. Depending on how much you add to your mix, and it is DIRT Cheap. you can go from a slight cling, to a foam, OR to a GEL !!! This will greatly assist dwell time, making it possible to clean with even LESS Chlorine, saving Money AND Plants. This is the "Holy Graille" for us roof cleaners. The stuff is a POWERFUL Surfactant too, making TSP and other non water soluble additives obsolete! The Company who makes this HAS supplied this product WITH a scent in the past. So, we will be able to have our choice of scented, vs unscented!! I am SOO very excited about this discovery guys I can hardly sit down! Just to give you some ideas, a 55 gallon drum of this stuff is under 300 dollars !! It only takes .5 to 1 percent to do it's thing, so 55 gallons lasts FOREVER !! That means, in our 300 gallon tanks, we only need from 1.5 to 3 gallons added to our mix. and TOTAL water solubility, just dump it in, and STIR.
Do they sell it in smaller quantities so we can try it out? 55 gallons might last me a lifetime if it only takes a little.
Yes, they do 5 gallon pails, but are set up for 55 gallon drums mainly. I requested some samples, and they have to make up some 5 gallon pails for me. i ALMOST just went ahead and bought 55 gallons of it, wanna try it first.
The NICE thing about this stuff is it is BOTH a Rheology modifier AND a Chlorine Stable Surfactant ! IOW, the more you add, the thicker your roof cleaning mix GETS ! You can even turn your tank into a GEL if you want, LOL
We will have to experiment of course, but theory dictates the longer the dwell time, and the less surface tension, the less Chlorine we shall need ?
A GOOD surfactant AIDS the Chlorine Oxidizer by reducing surface tension. This allows for better cleaning by pre dissolving the Algae, and making sure the Chlorine can Penetrate it.
This is why we use Alcohol in Apple Cider, to aid in penetration,
MOST of us have NEVER really used an effective surfactant with Chlorine. Most Surfactants get broken down as soon as they hit the roof cleaning chemical, and they also weaken the overall roof cleaning mix.
This stuff will take Chlorine all Month long, and not weaken it.
I predict if this works out like I think it will, we will all be cleaning with it someday ?
It is actually CHEAPER then Dawn or TSP, etc, etc.
Dump it in the tank, stir, and go spray.
Totally water soluble, no TSP to worry about clogging our pumps!
What could be easier ?
Got a Steep Roof ?
No Problem, add a tad more, stir until your "roof cleaning gravy" is thick enough to stick.
Here are some pictures of us using an NP 9 Surfactant on a Tampa Church Roof.
Chris, You know I'm all over this new stuff. Damn, If this stuff does as you say it will make Roof Cleaning a whole lot easier. Let me know when it comes in Chris. I'll drive over and check it out. Maybe we can do lunch again!

Sounds awesome! I can't wait to try myself! can it be used with alcohol or will there be no need to use alcohol? Is this something we can get at Univar or will it need to shipped in from somewhere? Keep us updated
This sounds VERY interesting! I have given up using most additives, because of clogs and a weakening of the chlorine. I may make up a 120 gal tank, use 50 gallons and then pressure clean for 2 or 3 days before I do another chemical cleaning roof. I have noticed a serious loss in chlorine strength, with TSP, Borax and Simple Green in the tank, when left a few days. So, I have quit using anything but a bottle of Dawn in a tank and it doesn't seem to weaken the chlorine noticeably? This product sounds like "THE ANSWER" I wish I could get 5 gallons and test it out! If anyone wants to do some splitting, maybe we can work out some sort of deal-making 11 5 gallon buckets out of a 55 gallon drum? If I like it and if it will maintain freshness over a long period of timeand not weaken my chlorine, i'll get a 55 gal drum! I would also be willing to buy say 10 gallons and come pick it up within 75 miles or so of Englewood,Fl At $5.45 a gallon this would be a money maker!!!

Chuck, I changed your profile, be READY for some work Brother. Like you, Apple Roof Cleaning WAS Father and Son, and some full time employees. My Son will be RETURNING in a few months, we MISSED him!
I have a strong feeling the new stuff is going to be the REAL deal. Remember, once you dump Dawn, or ANY non chlorine compatable surfactant into the tank, the chlorine ATTACKS it!
Thus, most have never really used a surfactant that will not lose strength !
TSP IS compatable with Chlorine, but a PITA to use !
Maybe I will just order a 55 gallon drum, and spread it around to TRY ?
Larry wants some, and so does Mike in NC.
But there are TWO different ones I am looking at, so I must first see WHAT one is best.
I will be hearing from the company within two weeks, maybe sooner.
Can't wait to see your report on this Chris. Will be just in time for the kickoff here for me!! By the way, thanks so much for the signature optimizing and helping me,... and all of us get more noticed!!

Good Morning Buddy!
Great Info and the price and concentration sounds exciting!
I know you and I have discussed this before, several times since last year.
It is good to know that you are moving ahead with the new samples and testing.
It sounds like from the other posts we are all eager to hear the results you obtain.
Meanwhile I would also like to test this product.
Can you PM me the particulars so I can order a drum?
Thanks, Chris,
for keeping us all posted on this revolutionizing product and for researching this for the benefit of the roof cleaning industry.
