Hello and Good Evening Everyone on the RCIA,

Most of you know me here but for those new to the board, my name is David W. of Roof Clean USA tm and next to ChrisT. of Apple Roof Cleaning who many already know as Founder and Administrator of the RCIA, I am honored to act as  Assistant Administrator here on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America, the Worlds Number One Roof Cleaning Educational, Safety, Training and Certification Forum

We want to welcome all the many newcomers that have joined the forum in recent months, and I and Chris Of Apple want to thank you for becoming members of the RCIA and sharing in the growth and knowledgebase which is the basis for this terrific environment where many new and professional roof cleaning individuals alike, can come and learn and grow together.

It is partly my responsibility to keep posts clean, i.e. no profanity, slander, online verbal abuse, etc. I do this voluntarily, so we can keep this a highly profesional environment where we can all come to learn, grow, share and benefit.

By overseeing the board's posts and in keeping this board's standards of professionalism HIGH this helps to oversee the boards continued high rankings in the search engines, which translates to benefitting EACH and EVERYONE here.

So far I am very happy to report that all of the members of the RCIA, are getting along very well, posts are clean, use of the board is increasing and all of us have remained very professional and so for the most part I just stay out of the way other than posting comments and suggestions relating to roof cleaning.

So for that, CONGRATULATIONS are in order. Thank you ALL for making this board what it is, a professional worldwide community of Roof Cleaning Professionals who take this opportunity to grow, learn, share seriously and in part helped the RCIA to become the best on the web for Roof Cleaning Knowledge.

Having said that, there is one area that I want to address and that is a responsibility we all need to keep in mind and take seriously.

Some on the RCIA board do not know or understand what plagiarism is and for those that do not here is the loose dictionary term which for legal reasons I will only provide a link to so you can go to the definition directly and read it yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plagiarism

As a perfect example of Plagiarism would be me cutting and pasting the entire definition here, on this board and taking credit for it would be trademark infringement.

So using this definition could even be considered a form of it, but its definition needs to be clear so we never have any problems concerning using unauthorized publishing of others authors works without consent.

All of us who love this board and who want it to be around for a long time to come need to remember this term and keep this in mind when we are posting on this forum It would also serve us and be to our benefit to be careful not to do this in our personal businesses as well.

One possible way for problems to occur is if we have CONTENT that is found elsewhere on the web and someone cut and pastes it here, such as Wikipedia material that is not yours and not ours and, take note, as this is very important, "you did not substantially change it, making it your work" but instead directly pasted copyrighted material into the RCIA. This can cause us problems as we may have to remove this post if it gets challenged in the future by WIKI as it is a DIRECT tear off of their page on any subject.

In the future, since this forum is still relatively new and we are ALL learning here, please, to keep our forum SAFE, it is important for us all to learn to use LINKS instead.

Learning how to insert a link is very simple and easy to do on this forum.

If you don't know how, I can explain it if you ask me.

If not I will assume you know how to do this.

By using a link and commenting around it, we create what is called inbound and outbound linking on the board which is good for you, your business and the RCIA.

It also puts a DIRECT link that OTHERS can choose to CLICK and open in the same current window or in a new window and when someone clicks on the link with a mouse it will take them to the site you want others to know about or even the specific page you want others to find.

By doing this, it still gets your point across (to be able to recommend) a site, product or feature or benefit, and, it saves our beloved RCIA from possible plagiarism, copyright, trademark and other infringements.

Thanks for your time and understanding in this matter.

Respectfully,

David W.Asst.Admin. - Roof Cleaning Institute of America

Operations Manager, Roof Clean USA

Good post.

Why copy someone Else's work. Every one learned that in school, I hope. Now if you do copy then you must give them credit where credit is due. Like Chris with his Apple Sauce and Apple cider mixes he posted. I am going to copy the mixture and Chris thank you for the knowledge. Mike thanks for the Apple Sauce Cider Mix.

These mixes are only the wheels of our business and the other parts are the engine (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.)

Here is my thinking on this.... You must supply your own engine because I don't think Chris, Mike or others want to come up here and do all my leg work for me.

Why reinvent the wheel when all you have to do is change the engine?

With that said, we all have to be a few plugs short of a V8 to go into business for our selves for everything we have to go through.

Just to let you know why I edited your post.
I edited your post as it had Mike Sullivan listed as MOKE.

Their were a couple of type-O's and I revised them since I was reading the post anyway. Hope this helps.

Good Points made by GREAT WHITE here. Thanks

No Problem Pat.

All good Pat, I have big hands too and its tough for me to type sometimes after a long work day.

I usually don't correct others posts as we all make mistakes typing, INCLUDING ME.

I just thought my friend Mike Sullivan, or MOKE as you called him, lol, would appreciate the effort for me to correct his name as I know he would look out for me on the forum as well biggrin
