Goodyear is stiffer, heavier, last longer.

Kuri-tec PVCs Tundra air/water and Poly Air/water is lighter, more flexible, easier to work with.

I buy my hose from a local rubber company, I'm paying 95 cents/ft for Kuri-tec.

Dave can probably give us a link for more prices on those AG hoses.

Thanks Dave!

David, great posts. Question(s) 1: Does the red water hose make a significant difference in flow or application? I'm a mean green advocate.

Question 2: How flexible is that kuri hose? I use Bob's poly braid tubing and it works fine, but kinks from time to time and locks up in lower temps.

I haven't used the Kuritec Ag hose, at 800psi I can imagine it's very stiff and heavy.

Are they harder to work with than the PVC air/water kuritecs Dave?

The red Kuritec PVC air/water hose is close to what I use, except mine is blue.

I do know that the Kuritec PVC hoses are more chemically resistant than mean green hose, from what Chris has told me.

Did Rittenhouse mistype the availability of the size of their hoses in Ag green 800psi? It says it comes in 5/8"

Ok here we go, I am new to this site, but I was on the other site since last year. Chris from apple and Mike sullivan have helped me out to no end with all my dumb questions.I am on Long Island N.Y. and have been hybernating all winter gearing up for this spring. I don't think I can become certified, But I am willing to be a great student. Heres what I got for you guys,it may not help you boys down south but up here and areas where it gets cold in early spring and early October  you will love it. I had the standard set up from Bob at pressure tek and everything worked great.{ He's a great guy and always willing to help out,he's one guy to do buisness with }Ok last October into Novemeber when it started getting cold I had trouble with the polly braid hose, crimping up,wouldnt roll up just to damn stiff. It really slowed us down and I was happy when the last home for the year was finished. Mike Sullivan turned me on to a guy in North Carolina who was a rubber dealer. His name also is Mike and his number is 336-272-4503, he turned me onto the Tundra pvc hose promising me it would still be flexable in the freezing cold....guarenteed! I purchased it and withen a few days it arrived. Now its brutally cold up here, when ups dropped it on my porch I left it there for an hour. I bundled up and went out there....I couldnt believe it...the hose was so flexable...like it was sitting in the boiling sun. I ordered more and cant wait to use it.You may find a dealer closer to you...but I will only get it from down in North Carolina. This guy Mike is on the ball...great sensae of humor and gets the job done. Thanks to Mike Sullivan for turning me on to that rubber dealer.

Welcome to the RCIA Charlie!

I am, personally, really excited to have you become a registered member of The RCIA!

We have recently seen a lot of new Roof Cleaning Apprentices come on board in recent months and as Cleaning SEASON approaches, many folks like yourself have been signing up on The RCIA, eager to learn and excited for the Future, and knowledge they hope to gain by being part of the RCIA .

Allow me to introduce myself, My name is David Westerman of Roof Clean USA and I am a fellow Roof Cleaner and  the Assistant Admin. here on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America.

I help out the Forum when our mutual friend and mentor, Chris T. of Apple is occasionally MIA, LOLbiggrin

Charlie, you have come to the RIGHT PLACE for gaining a WEALTH of SOLID KNOWLEDGE in a GROWING market, that being the Roof Cleaning Industry.

From reading your post, you ALREADY have one of the KEY ingredients of success in this , and, in fact, ANY business, and that is you have a POSITIVE attitude.

Someone once said, "Attitude, DETERMINES Altitude" and if that is true, you are WELL on your way! smile

You are on the ball, it sounds like and it also sounds to me like you are on the right track.

You are also VERY FORTUNATE to have been befriended by two great guys, Chris T. and Mike S., between them you have available, a bucketful of wisdom and knowledge in this business, a deep well of resources to draw from, so congratulations!

Charlie, one thing to offer here, if I could lend a small piece of advice. That advice is to do yourself a favor and give yourself a break, and don't work yourself up too much over the Testing and Certification. That's NOT to SAY that the testing and requirement are not challenging but still, please remember, we are in the same business you want to be in. We are an UNDERSTANDING bunch of small business people and, we are pretty easy going around here on the RCIA.

Sure, you have to know your STUFF but you are worrying too much about certification.

Just get on here and read, read , read.

For example, Chris Tucker of Apple Roof Cleaning, our esteemed FOUNDER with over 20 years experience in the industry, has over 535 posts on this RCIA Roof Cleaning board, MANY of which have a WEALTH of KNOWLEDGE and my fellow friend and Certified Roof Cleaner, whom you also know, Mike Sullivan, who turned you on to that GREAT hose your so excited about, has over 215 posts, also CHOCK FULL of Valuable and Important Roof Cleaning and Marketing Info.

My point is, Charlie, just from Chris and Mike, there are OVER 745 posts on a HUGE variety of TOPICS. All of them available for you to read and gain educataion from.

Just read this BOARD, front to back, weed thru the knucklehead posts here and there, taking those questionable posts with agrain of SALT, LOL, and remember to take your time, absorb EVERYTHING, be a SPONGE and post and ask questions, and REMEMBER to use the SEARCH BUTTON.

Also, an IMPORTANT reminder, make lots of notes to yourself about the many questions that are SURE to come to mind, then, either use the SEARCH button and read all available info on the subject or if you can't find a specific post on the TOPIC you seek, THEN by all means, ASK a question and you will probably recieve a reasonable answer, USUALLY pretty quickly, you may be suprised.confuse

Many of the topics you will read and learn about will educate you on many important roof cleaning, business and marketing knowledge that can be found all over this TERRIFIC, RCIA Roof Cleaning Forum, which the test for Certification will be BASED on.
So, just read like you were studying for an exam in high school, (but without the NOSY techer looking over your shoulder, lol) take notes, do reasearch and post questions on topics and subjects you are unsure of, and, within a short time you will have your 100 posts and will have read enough to answer the roof cleaning quiz and before you know it you will be CERTIFIED.

As if that wasn't enough, and, by that I mean, you having a great opportunity of getting Personalized help by reading and picking the brains of 2 of the best Roof Cleaners in the business, both Chris and Mike.

And just for reference,  I bring to the table additional all around knowledge of all phases of Roof and Pressure Cleaning as well and am usually more han happy to help in any way I can.

And, here's some additional good news you might be interested in hearing about Charlie!

As of late I have been in an exceptionally good mood and have been posting like a wildman, spilling my years of experience, as well, ALL OVER the many threads here on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America, which, by the way, if you may not already know, is the world's Number #1 Roof Cleaning Knowledge base.

In fact, Charlie, just for guys like you who want to get the coveted RCIA Certification and the ability to use our RCIA logo on your own website and etc.,
I have personally recently added over 85, BRAND NEW, VERY DETAILED posts with many INSIDER SECRETS and a TON of INDUSTRY LINKS,as well, that no one (at least not in their right mind) will share with you ANYWHERE else but HERE, on the RCIA.

What this amounts too is that MUCH, if not ALL of the information a new Roof Cleaner needs to get Certified and to GET STARTED RIGHT is available right  here.

To recap, here is some additional food for thought, Charlie

On this Forum, The RCIA, you have a UNIQUE opportunity, to be trained by some of the best in the Roof Cleaning business. but here is something additional to ALSO be considered.

The knowledge you gain here will help feed your family and build a lifestyle and a career you can be proud of, offering a much IN DEMAND service that is STILL in its INFANCY and has many years to grow and mature fully, across the US of A and around the World, and that translates to is this, that their is room for business owners like yourself, to grow and prosper by offering a service based business to your local community, providing a service of TRUE worth and value.

I hope this pep talk has you LITERALLY chomping at the bit for the SPecialized KNOWLEDGE only available HERE on the RCIA.

Read and you will learn, learn and you will grow, grow and you will prosper!

We, all the members and CERTIFIED Roof Cleaners of this forum, look forward to assisting you, and all the others that are new to this concept of Non Pressure, Safe Roof Cleaning and Treatment.

We, of Roof Cleaning Institute of America hope you learn, grow and prosper and become a loyal, member in good standing for many years to come.

Welcome Again, Charlie!

Wishing YOU, and all New Members, Much Success and Prosperity.....

Respectfully,

David W.

Yes, welcome Charlie !
The roof cleaning season approaches, time to GET PAID !
Personally, I LIKE the Red Kurritech that Dave Westerman turned everyone, including ME onto !
It does kink a BIT faster then AG Hose, but the ease of everyday use is my favorite so far.
well, Mean Green is THE easiest, lightest hose i have EVER used, but it will not last w/o rinsing it out all the time. and we do NOT rinse our equipment.
I PURPOSELY torture our pumps, hoses, and reels to accelerate wear and tear

That's a great deal. I would cut it into two hoses, and have brass garden fittings crimped on it.

200ft for chemical, 100ft for water (ground man rinsing)
