Here's a few sizes that might help with your decision.

50 gallons- minimum. 1 roof/day

150-225 gallons- middle of the road rig.  3-6 roof cleanings.

335+ gallons- hard core yamada air pump monster rigs. Large commercial jobs.

Like Dave said, you may want to consider offering multiple services like house and concrete washing. If so, you will need 2 or 3 tanks.

Here is a couple of companies I have bought from.

www.chappellsupply.com

www.ronco-plastics.net

How many leaf springs are on your axle?  What kind of tires?  Do you have trailer brakes?  If not, get them.

Make sure you get tough trailer tires rated for 50 psi at least.

I would recommend upgrading to 1-ton (4 leaf springs), unless you already have them.

The stronger springs will ease the pressure from your axle, keeping it from being bent from hard jolts.

Get the 150 tank or larger, you'll kick yourself if you get the 100 tank. Some day you will get 3-4 roofs in a day that you can't do with the 100 gallons.

Good deal. It's been a while since I bought a tank.

I did a search and found a great deal from the www.tank-depot.com.

Check this out.

http://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=TC3845LA

http://www.tank-depot.com/Drawings/TC3845LC.pdf

200 gallon heavy-duty chemical tank for $259 !

Also check your local agricultural supply store.  They may have the same thing for the same price, so you can just pick it up w/o paying for shipping.

I have not used an inverter before.  Will a 115V pump run off the inverter draw more amps from your battery than if you used a 12V pump instead ?

Are you going to run off your truck battery or use a separate battery?

Like Dave said, you might want to consider getting a solar panel battery charger if you are running off your truck battery.  I'd be afrad the pump would suck all the juice out of it and leave you stuck.

confuseThe reason i chose Bob from Pressuretek is the good talk i got about him  from this site and after speaking to him he was very helpful, my setup will be a Titan hosereel #5418 , 250' of orange hose i think it was goodyear i have to check he recommends 1/2" but i may change it to 5/8", 5850-104e 115v Delavan pump,Bandit gun assembly 4 assorted spray nozzels and all the needed hose connections in stainless, i chose the 115v because I have a heavy duty Tripplite inverter on my truck already plus i have two generators if need be. the tank i chose after talking to Chappell tanks & NTO tanks was a 125 gal #fso125-32 (vented) made by Ace Roto Mold  i choose NTO because they were 120.00 less overall. As a new guy i felt the Delavan was a great pump from all i read on this site and the price is low for its return i went with a good hosereel & hose trying to advoid love leaks all over the customers house. i went with 125gal tank to have enough to do two houses but one a day will be fine besides i want to watch the weight i'm pulling, cost wise this  works for me if things go real well i'll upgrade to an air pump setup. If i didn't have the inverter( and generators ) i would have chosen the 12v., so for about 1300.00 i'm ready to go !  if i fail ,well i got a good hose and reel and a 125gal beer mug confuse  I have to say thanks to all for the help ! and special thanks to Dave of Roof Clean & Mike of Pressure Washing Pro !confuse

That is Great Tropo, I myself find it difficult to ask questions for everytime I have one I find the answer here. I feel pretty confident on most everything. A week ago when I came up with the idea on cleaning roofs I was searching the web to see what the competition was like and had a hard time finding any info on the matter at all. Now after I found RCIA  I feel I can make my own sprayers, wire my own pump, hell do  the whole setup in no  time at all. What Ive learned from Chris, Mike,Dave,Russ, Jeff and questions such as yours is priceless. I also know once I start cleaning and run into a road block I know where to find the answer to the problem. Right here RCIA..

RCIA ROCKS

Make it a great day

confuseHi Mike ,forgot to answer your question on inverters i have been using heavy duty Tripplite inverters for over 20years i run many power tools off these inverters some drawing over 15 amps ac never have a  problem. your big thing is running heavy cable to the inverter like #2 welders cable its not just the cable (wire) size its the amount of strands look at a quality pair of jumper cables and most likely it will be #6 and look and you'll see that there's a ton of fine strands this is what handles the current draw and less over heating. confuse

Thanks Vinny.  Make sure you get 5/8" hose instead of 1/2".   Your pump will run much better, shoot further, and give you more flow.
