Why We Water Plants When Cleaning Roofs

Everyone knows we water plants before, during, and after the roof cleaning process, right ?
Ever wonder why ?
So did I, back a long time ago.
So, I thought I would ask what is the exact killing mechanism of the roof cleaning chemicals.
http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives...0591.Bt.q.html

Chlorine, or what we call Sodium Hypochlorite can kill or damage unprotected plants two ways.
One, by cellular degeneration.
Two, by salt poisoning the plants.

Here are some pictures of damaged plants, to show what awaits your customers if you fail to take proper precautions.

Make no mistake, your customers plants will be compromised if not protected.

Thanks for re-posting this info Chris.

We all Know the Axiom: K.I.S.S. = Keep It Simple S.....

RINSING and watering plants and landscape is.... Good

Dead plants and lawn...Bad

We have to remember...

Pizza and Beer for the Groundsmen, once and a while. LOL

Keeping them happy keeps them walking and moving the WATERING & RINSING hose. biggrin

Chris T. Of Apple Roof Cleaning, you are always thinking of the safety of the customer.

Its Always good to be reminded not take chances with a customers landscape and lawn.

The Motto for Roof Clean USA is

"When in doubt, cover it, divert it, rinse and water the heck out of sensitive areas with plants and shrubbery or if possible, move it out...of the way"

An easy solution to keep your deductible and commercial insurance rates low.

Roof Cleaning using safe and sensible cleaning methods makes good sense here in Thomasville, GA and Tallahassee, FL

Good reminder for the up coming season Chris,... I always tell my customers "Your plants will not be harmed by the product because we keep the water flowing,...they may die from drowning BUT they will not die from the chemical!!"....Always gets a chuckle out of them.

Jeff thats too funny. The wife just started a new job a couple of weeks ago but was working with me Cleaning Roofs. She would water 1 plant or bush for so long that I started telling my customers the same thing. LOL... Gotta Love Roof Cleaning though!
