Air compressor pumps don't offer a lot of pressure. The max pressure you can generate from one of those mobile air compressors is around 100 psi. John Blue and Udor are putting out far more pressure. I haven't used any of them, but I would think you can shoot farther and reach more places with the Udor and John Blue pumps. I know Chris is real passionate about his pumps, and probably a little biased so let's be realistic here.

No, Chris has USED all the other pumps, has NOTHING to sell anyone, and is TRYING to keep you from making a mistake. The air compressors can easily do 125 psi, and even more for short periods of time. It is NOT only pressure that makes a pump clean, or shoot. Just as a 2500 PSI pressure washer at 8 gpm will outclean a 4000 psi at 3 GPM machine, so a 15 GPM Yamada pump at 125 psi will outclean a 200 psi at 4 GPM John Blue. Buy what you want, I have no financial stake in any pump. But THINK about this ? Look at my old roof cleaning truck pictures ? You will SEE the bypass hose on my tanks, proving that I once used the type of pumps you are contemplating buying. Now, look at my NEW roof cleaning trucks ? WTF, NO bypass hoses on my tanks anymore ! And Yamada's on ALL my trucks. Now, cost for a Yamada setup and a Udor or John Blue are comparable. And we only clean roofs, lots of them. IF the Udor or John Blue Roof Cleaning Pumps were "better", don't you think they would be ON my trucks ? Here are my roof cleaning trucks, notice the progression ? You can tell the OLD ones, they have the bypass hose required by the Udor or John Blue Pumps. I used those pumps long before most even knew about them. I refuse to use them any more. Here is an old thread http://www.cleaningtalk.com/showthread.php?p=9327 We didn't like em then, and we don't like em now.

15 GPM sounds like complete overkill for a roof cleaning pump. Do they offer anything with less gpm? I would be worried with the runoff. Btw, what kind of distance are you getting with your pump? Mike says the Fatboy can shoot 40 ft vertically easily. The John Blue DP40 does that easily also. The Udor Zeta shoots 50 ft or more. How does the Yamada stack up to those? Do they have one that puts out less GPM but can shoot at least 40 ft vertically?
15gpm @ 125psi with 200ft 5/8" hose will give you some flow loss.
I would guess at the nozzle you would get around 10gpm, is that right Chris?
Give Chris a call, he'll tell you all about it. He knows what he's talking about, not biased, and speaks from a lot of experience (over 15 years & over 10,000 roofs cleaned).
Mike, I am not trying to bust anyone's balls here. I am just trying to become informed on this business the best that I can before I build my roof cleaning setup. I enjoy all the info I am getting here.
Chris I am about to put mine together......finally!
Which one of these is the pump and is there a better place to buy it?
I have gthe fatboy and I am sick of the batteries! I have 2 deep cycle marine batteries and it gets old charging them and cleaning out the pump everyday, I want it simpler, I want a kynar pump that I dont have to rinse out and I already bought the compressor (LIKE YOUR RIGID) I just want to make sure I am buying the right pump. I honestly dont care about 15gpm I really would like to get 5 to 8 gpm so let your homie know and I will post pics when I am done
Are you cleaning a lot more roofs these days Russ? How's business in Alabama this time of year? Is it slower? Do you get below freezing weather down there?
Business sucks in NC this time of year. Last few weeks I've only worked a couple of days a week.
Today it will be warm enough to get some work done, it will be in the 40's, tomorrow will be nice, in the 50's.
I just booked 4 for next week and 2 for the weekend, that is pretty good for this time of year for us, I am really getting a lot of calls for roof cleaning, it is really catching on here.
Mike as far as the weather, right now it is 33 but it was 24 last night but supposed to be 7o by the weekend ????? Go Figure!
I bought mine from Dultmeirs, they seem to have the best prices on these pumps that I could find when I started looking last year. Definitely the best way to go when pumping chlorine. Also there aren't any by-pass valves to mess with. Used it all last year and it pumped the same from the beginning of Spring till the end of Fall. RELIABILITY is what I was after. I have the poly version and it was $259.00. I don't mind rinsing because I would rinse a Kynar pump also, because I like to run a complete cycle of water through the hoses and hose reels anyhow, so I just tee a valve in the pick-up line,... drop a hose in a bucket of water and pump the remaining cleaner back into the tank till I see water come through. I don't like the idea of chemical being left in my hoses and hose reel.

Excellent Russ, got to love living in the south. Makes me wish I liver further south though, like Florida.
Does anyone sell air compressors minus the engine? I have a 4hp Honda I just bought to run the Udor I was going to buy. If I could make use of this engine it would be great.

Probably not sold new.(But I could be wrong). You also have to consider the way an engine on a compressor works, they have a pressure switch that runs the throttle, so make sure if you put something together it's done with that switch in place. When the pressure is at a certain low point the throttle will kick to full and at the top pressure the throttle falls back to idle. This switch has to be on there.

Good point Jeff. Maybe I could keep this Honda engine as a backup if the compressor engine ever goes out. I'm sure it would bolt up to the compressor and the pressure switch.
I just looked at the Yamada pumps at Dultmeir http://www.dultmeier.com/products/search/1312
There are so many NDP-15 pumps to choose from. Which one is the best to get, or a good one to get for pumping SH solution? Also, why are you guys saying 15 gpm, I see 12 gpm listed on the NDP-15 pumps.
