Absolutely Nate, certification is a way of distancing you from Low Ball Luke.
It tells a customer you know your stuff

Excellent , certification sets appart the guys who are trying to be more professional.
who appear more willing to say to the customer I am a professional and have taken the time to lean my trade. not just anouther guy trying to make fast money.

Firstly, good luck with RCI(A) - I think it is a great step forward for the industry as a whole and any effort to improve credibility should be commended.

I am not actively seeking work in the roof cleaning sector of our industry at the moment, but will be looking at it the medium to long term for my company.

In my opinion, you would be correct to split certification across the different roof cleaning applications. I think it would be good for a couple of reasons:

- By offering separate certification you give contractors the opportunity to focus on the kind of roof cleaning applications that are specific to their target market or location.

- Separate certification may also allow you or your instructors to deliver contractor-friendly ("bite-size") courses that may be shorter in duration and content.... thus more convenient to busy contractors.

Is there going to be a structure to training, ie. follows a number of predetermined stages, syllabus, set assessment procedures?

I think you only need one certification and cover all the different type of roofs. Also I think the training needs to cover equipment failures and a trouble shooting guide as this is a big part of our business.

I think 1 cert is enough and safety should be a paramount issue here.
