Hello Fellow Roof Cleaners!

Here are a couple good pairs for shoes for walking roofs. They have non-slip bottom and will not damage the shingles.

I wonder how they compare to the Cougar Paw grip?

In my opinion, the shoes pictured and others are better than most other shoes or boots on a roof, but nothing is as good as cougar paws.

One thing we always do with the cougar paws is to take the spongy bottom off and rinse them after we are done.  They are spongy and can soak up some sh.

I'm not too concerned about replacing the pads on my cougar paws as they do wear out. Unfortunately however the plastic burs that hold the pads wear out as well. And once those are worn out enough it's time to replace the boots. I do wish they would improve the burs.

SH is extremely hard on those burrs, or the Velcro side Dave.  We leave a dry egress point and treat it on the way back towards the ladder.  The Paws themselves tend to hold up a lot longer this way.  At least that;s been our experience with them.
