Solution rusting nails?

What is everyone's response to a customer when they ask "will the chemicals make the nails holding the tiles on rust and break off?"

?Better than vibrating the nails out and cracking tiles with a pressure washer?

?The nails are far enough under the tiles that the chemicals won't reach them?

?If the rain can reach the nails then they are already rusted from water?

?If the roofers used quality nails then rusting won't be an issue?

So, don't use bleach on your underwear and whites, because it will "rust your washing machine, and cause it to fall apart".

There should be no exposed nails securing asphalt shingles (if that's what you meant by tiles).  Nails through flashing or ridge vents should all be sealed.    The answer is of course, no.  Any unsealed nail heads present an opportunity for you to provide a solution.  That potential question from a client then works to your mutual advantage.

I like your sense of humor Chris.

As for the "tiles," Im not talking about asphalt shingles. Clay and concrete tiles are the most common roofing material in south fl and thats what I mean by tiles.

A process called galvanizing, or hot-dipping. In this process, nails are drenched in a special solution that contains molten zinc, which helps to protect the metal underneath it.
