Promotional Post vs. Subject Post
Permalink

I have noticed on any forum that the lines get crossed between what is a promotional post and a subject matter post.

It would be nice to have a posting page where anyone could put up a promtional post without any replies. I personally use most of my membership(s) for promotional posts. That's why I pay for a membership.

I have been guilty of replying in what is a promotional post when feedback is allowed. They always seem to get off subject or feedback would be better served in another post.

Of course when posting the person may want to label i.e. promotional or say feedback, as some are asking for feedback, which again could be posted in another subject/heading.

Passions run high and everyone has pride in what they are doing or they wouldn't be doing it. Because of such, emotions come into play which tend to be either offensive or defensive responses. Human nature.

Forums are designed to network and communicate within the subject matter. Like this forum is for Roof Cleaning.

Opinons will vary and each member is subjective to their own process and experience. Which means many different points of view. What may work for some may not for others. That's reality.

It is hard, when emotions come into play, to just agree to disagree and move forward. I am speaking from personal experience. Who doesn't want the last word. Again, human nature.

So for those that want to make a promtional post only to have a section of the forum to do so would better serve the purpose.

For those that want to make a subject matter post than the forum is already open to that. They can either engage or not.

How about a link/page/section for promotional posts with no option for feedback/replies?

We do have such a place, right here http://roofcleaninginstitute.org/index.php?/blogs/ on our new forum.

These blogs I set up so the user has total control over comments, etc, etc.

They show up MUCH better then any other forum you can post on, because they are a part of the new RCIA Forum, that is extremely highly ranked.

Okay. Didn't realize that but will look into it. In that case all promtional type post should go there. Thank you.
