He's doing a pretty good job. I checked out his "clean forum". Everything he posts is knocking the chlorine cowboys. Not one reply from his vast member list-6. Funny though if you click on a lot of the links it brings you to an Asian shopping site.

When I am asked about my competition I'm always polite and say that they do a good job. Then I point out the differences and why my service is better than theirs. Negativity never has a positive return.
I had a potential customer deny a soft wash roof cleaning . They canceled when they went onto the roof cleaners web site a viewed 2 sites showing how the stuff we use destroyed all the plants and Shrubs around the house. There probably needs to be a few informative web sites showing that the Roofing Manufacturer's Association is in compliance with our method, and how it is against any type of pressure being used to clean there shingles.
Our method does not void shingle warranties but pressure washing could.

Your point about better educating the public is well made. I been beating that drum for years now. LOL The problem or concern isn't or shouldn't be the SH, it is or should be the cleaner. If the prep is done right and the solution controlled there should never be a problem with landscaping. But then again, the opposition that uses a much more toxic and cuastic and harmful process has done a better job of educating and scare tactics do work.
I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked the question " Now this cleaning spray won't hurt my plants will it?" People are very concerned about their landscaping and rightly so. That is why the opposition uses it, it works.
From a marketing stand point it is smart for them to use such. Of course they don't tell the home owner that their process isn't effective, so they have to use something. Let's get the plants! LOL
I rightly explain to the HO that our process does not harm landscaping. I explain that we water the landscaping and put bag collectors on the downspouts as an extra precaution so that no excess roof algaecide will shock the landscaping. Anyone, including a professional landscaper, can shock grass or landscaping if they dumped or applied too much fertilizer or anything on it.
