ugly shingles contractor network.... shadiness or confusion?

I'm usually pretty good with all this stuff, competition or what ever... but I will say I'm starting to get annoyed from the conflict of interests with ugly shingles, his franchises, and his SEO power on this board... And really it takes a lot for me to get annoyed with something.. I am starting to feel that Ugly is using our posts to increase his profits.. which I'm fine with, (i like the board) but him being able to sell franchises on here and then having the power to manipulate back links like the one im questioning makes me get a little pissed off...

Does he have the same power on the other (new) board? or is it just this one?

Don't really know the requirements for being listed on the Contractors network, but being listed on the "certified" map has NOT changed . Uglies have paid the fee to be a "VENDOR" on both sites and in doing so obtained the right to sell anything they decide to offer. This would be better handled thru phone calls or PM's instead of open posts where all the Uglies haters will join in. True facts instead of suspicions settle differences faster.

great website. but when uglyshingles.com is the site for all of our maps.... we're kind of at their mercy.. and im not hating. just wondering why everyone in PA is off now that there is a ugly shingles in PA.

I been biting my tounge.

What I remember, The RCIA. This place. It was a brotherhood. A lot of other roof cleaners made friends with other roof cleaners near them, and made More money!

I shared everything I did!!!

Couple years later, some of us are a lil bigger. Strong ties, with other contractors. Your word means a lot.

It is still a Brotherhood for me! But less people, less people in it.

THE UGLIES:

They popped in here a couple of years ago. Way better logos! Pics, totally on their game! Nobody was close!

They said recently, couple months ago, They were not doing franchises.

What do I say here??? Look at what is happening?

It is like our country! Chit going down the tubes.

I forgot how to check the map out. Didn't know I was on one, I think GutterDogs was on one????

I hope the uglies do well in their agenda what ever it may be. I would rather see a franchise then a fly by night low baller in my area. A franchise has all the bills to pay and will quote a decent price for lasting quality work,unlike a low baller. Even though I am mad at Gary this month...I have to say he is usually right in these areas.

That is why I recommended you call Steve. Anything else is just "hear say".

My thoughts are this. Uglies offered everyone the chance to be listed on their "contractors network" at NO charge, in an effort to gain business for the listed. As their franshise business grew into different states, they had a responsibility to assist the franchisee promote their business and become successful. Directly promoting competition to the franchisee is not in the best interest of the involved parties. Would you be happy if your franchiser promoted your competion?

Look at both sides of the issue. Other companies that sell equipment and training and chemicals have NO loyality to any of you. They would sell and train your next store neighbor if they thought they could make a buck or two. At least Uglies help their customers succeed by NOT promoting competion.

Gary is absolutely correct. If any of you thought that you were going to get a free lifetime ride off the backs of the Uglies, I would say you're gullible and you shouldn't be in business. But it's not a total loss, we are now accepting applications.

And there is the disconnect.. I thought that if you could only be listed on the contractor network if you paid for the map listing... if thats not the case, I was either misinformed, or wasnt told... Thats all I was looking for. I dont think the Uglies owe me anything, I was just looking for a answer to that simple question... I guess you speak for the Uglies since they havent even replied to the thread...

I stated in my first post on this that I did NOT know the requirements for being on the contractors network and still don't. I have offered my feelings on what and why this happened, but I guess that is not good enough. Are you afraid to call the Uglies to get the answers because that might diffuse this topic? I tried to help, but now I'n done with this BS. Good Nite.

Gary has always tried to get people to listen to reason. His advice to call the Uglis is good advice, just posting over and over is not getting an answer. I didn't even know the had offered anything personally, or I would have probably jumped on board for free!
If later, the "free" went away- well, that is business. You can't keep giving away what people are paying to have. I AM NOT ARGUING! I JUST SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO GARY, HE'S ALMOST ALWAYS RIGHT! { Like me biggrin }
