Roof Cleaner featured in TV Interview/Article

I ran across this article/TV segment in my review of today's cleaning headlines: Dennis Graham, Superior Roof Cleaning in Massachusetts interviewed for local TV segment.  Can't beat the free publicity!

Couldn't embed the video, but you can see it (and the article) here: http://www.wwlp.com/dpp/mass_appeal/design/extend-the-life-of-your-roof-with-superior-roof-cleaning

Maverick is correct he mentions low pressure in the interview. In the photos you can see where lichen and moss has been forced off.

I think you guys are spot on, he mentioned low pressure rinse, and you can not properly remove moss that quickly.

You are 100% correct Mav! You can see the clear lines when he stopped with the pressure cleaning wand. Besides that, the clear givaway is that moss turns white when the Soft Wash application is applied and can take up to a month or more for the moss roots to turn brittle enough to be removed with some of mother natures help.

Moss and Lichen does not come off instantly without some form of pressure. Moss and Lichen isn't common in South Florida but up here in North florida we see it quite a bit.

EVERY website I come across pertaining to roof cleaning uses the exact same "cut n paste" "facts" and "proceedures" almost verbatum even if they pressure wash, use a witch bitch, hovercraft, or other techniques to get it clean.

Reminds me of people who call "Sorta-Pro" painting and a high schrewl kid shows up not knowing the differece between oil and latex paints and thins out the oil with water or vice versa. THEN wants me to fix the mistakes for a fraction of the price.

Great observations/points! I was looking at it from a PR standpoint, particularly for those potential customers who aren't familiar with all the points you all are making. I was curious when I posted it if he was doing things correctly. I mostly read the article and just glanced at the video.

still a valuable segment to link to as he sells the service well and makes the "points" that the RCIA goes by. Just not good PR for other cleaners in his area as you would be promoting your direct competition, but those not near his market should still embed the vid!

He was nervous and I don't blame him. His right knee area began to shake...he put his hand there to hold it still.

The first thing I saw, was the straight and jagged lines on the lower portion of the partially cleaned roof. I could see they were the lines made by a pressure washer. In my area, that's what I compete with. Guys who say not to pressure wash roofs, but to use their proprietary roof cleaning mix, which [after some talk] gets "rinsed" off with a pressure washer. BS: They can spray baby shampoo on and pressure wash the algae off enough so it looks good. It's still blowing the granules off and it's still leaving the living algae spores spread all over the roof and now all over the ground and portions of the house etc too.
I found the overly talkative roof cleaner to be irritating!

It's hard for a legitimate, no-pressure roof cleaner to compete with a "bait and switch" company like this. The average homeowner, who want's instant gratification, would hire a company like this all day long. I have a long explanation of how our process works and how long it will take (a month or longer) for the moss and lichen to turn brittle and safely detach itself from the granules without us damaging their shingles and dislodging granules.

But when a competing company says they can remove it safely in the same day with no damaging pressure (even though they do) ... who are they going to go with?

This guy is the definition of bait and switch ... especially when 90% of most customers are not even home. I feel for the homeowners because this company, is no doubt, spraying these shingle roofs with high pressure and in a nutshell, ruing these shingles. The wand streaks on that roof are the proof in the pudding ... case closed.

I'd like to see a news clip of "DON'T BE SCAMMED" of the same company on the same news station. LOL (won't happen though because the station would be held liable for promoting these hacks).
