Do any of you guys clean monuments. I tried to clean one today. It was made of granite and it had a lot of lichen on it. Could it be power washed or is there some other way of removing the lichen? I used a 2% mix of SH and water, no surfacant. Gave up after a couple of hours scrubbing with a telescopic pole and soft brush.
Thanks garyw I was a bit apprehensive about it getting stained or discolored if I went too strong with the mix. Is there any other chemical that will break down the lichen or will a really strong mix do the trick?
Just use 40% SH and 60% water and 44 ounces of Dawn or Gain dish liquid. Soak it, let it sit [keeping it wet throughout] for 30 minutes and wash it off. If that doesn't get it all, saok it again with the mix and pressure wash it.
