Ok all, I talked to the pool man earlier today about the SH and im not sure if what he said is correct. He gets 500-800 gals of fresh SH once a week. He said the SH is 10.5% when its pumped into the yellow 2.5 gal jugs but after a week of sitting it weakens down to 6%. That would bring my final roof cleaning mix from 3.5% SH to 2% SH. I know the range we need to clean is between 3-4%. Does this sound right? Does it really weaken that much that fast? Again, im in south FL so its warm weather but I do keep the jugs in the shade if it matters.

Direct sunlight will weaken the mix if it is in a clear tank. Yours is in a colored yellow tank and is in the shade, so I would say no.  In florida there are more places to get chemical than there are here in NH. My chemical in 12.5% and is usually fresh because supply company gets deliveries every monday. I have let mix sit in my tank for over a week and has still cleaned. I only clean shingle roofs and I dont do tile roofs, and tile roofs need fresh chemical and needs to be stronger %.  The heat is also a factor that will weaken the chemical. I would try to find good fresh 12.5% .

In Florida, Pinch A Penny Stores have THE Best Chlorine. Try to only buy from a busy store with ONE Chlorine tank.

Chlorine, like bread, is best when fresh. It sort of sounds like to me u are getting some weak chit ?

Do not be scared to try other chlorine suppliers. Your mix, with the TSP and Borax, should clean up a drug addict, LOL

I think u are getting weak (old) Chlorine!

I get my SH from a big name pool store (I wont say the name) that has ONE 1,000 gal tank out back and refills once a week. It is "winter" so pools are cold and the SH isnt selling like it does in the summer. Its possible that I got some week SH. I have a Pinch A Penny store about 5 miles away so I will go in there and see what %SH they have, how big there tank is, how often they refill, and what the price is there. Right now im getting it for $1.50/gal. I don't need to clean all the addicts, just roofs. We just got tons of rain the last 2 days so I all my roofs just got a good rinsing.

Mr stay clean I hope ur comment ( I dont need to clean  all the addicts just roofs) is a joke an im reading it the wrong way.  Because the Man Mr Tucker  is a tile roof cleaning guru and is the master at cleaning all kinds of roofs.

Yes that comment was in a joking context. I agree that he is the master and one of the founders of this industry. I meant no disrespect.
