As you guys know, Google is going through a lot of changes. I had an issue where I got removed about a month ago, and didn't recieve any clarification until this evening. I have to hide my business location since I'm not a store front, I had listed publically ... that was the explaination.
Mine disappeared back in the spring. I just recently got it back. I lost all my reviews except 2, one of which was negative, left by a local competitor. The only place it even shows up now is my home town.
Something else you guys may want to check out. When my local listing first disappeared, I clicked the link on my site that was directed to my listing (so my customers could leave reviews) and it took me to Gutterdogs local listing. Check your links guys. You don't want to send a potential customer to another cleaner's site, no matter how good of friends we all are.
It forces you to think how to diversify where leads come from. Also makes you think how you should tag your main headers, so that, in the event you show up organically, but not on Google maps, what will drive potential customers to click your link. Ie: Get an NJ roof cleaning quote HERE!
they're working on local and mobile device/tablet conversion, which is why a lot of us disappeared recently (from what the rep explained). there aren't a ton of guidelines but make sure you read them make any changes. not that it's necessarily the reason why disappeared in the first place.
I lost mine too and my link was sending my customers to Extreme Cleaning in Kentucky. Pain in the butt, but after emailing google and being a pain in their rear, it went back to normal.
