Just wondering how many of you use CH with or instead of SH? With way less salt it seems like a good choice when doing roofs because it isnt as toxic to plants and shrubs or is it? It would weight a lot less and take up less space so why isn't it used more
Is CH easy to mix and is it fresher than SH when a batch is just made?
How good is it on roofs?
Are there other reasons not to use it?
How would it work with the Potassium Monopersulphate?
Thanks in advance guys
Mike,
Many if not all of us use SH(sodium hypochlorite) only. I tried CH on my home as a test and it didn't give me the results I desired. I've seen you around on another site and I'd be happy to help you. I know it's a long distance call from Ireland but you can always pick my brain by calling me at 570-994-6918. My great grandparents(Barrett) are from your part of the world.
PS...I like that gutter vacuum system and wireless camera on your website. Very interesting.

CH not only does not clean up a roof as well as SH, it leaves a calcium residue in your chemical tank, pumps, & lines that is hard if not impossible to remove thereby shortening your pump's life.
Most folks who choose to go the CH route typically augment their existing SH mix, rather using only CH. There are distinct advantages and disadvantages to both, but SH is easier to use. Without a method to recirculate a CH mixture, you will get settling and clog in your tank. It can leave a haze on windows and other surfaces.
In the southern part of the US, SH is very plentiful, and it really makes little sense to use anything else. I still carry a few pounds of CH on the trucks to use in case of emergency.
I can not speak to how it works with PM as I've never need to boost CH
