Well if you don't beleive in social media, you will now! We got fortunate enough to be featured on a local news segment called "Don't Waste your Money". They have now added the video/text onto their website which in turn goes to their facebook and twitter that has over 50,000 followers. Now those followers will probably send it on to 25,000 more people. Feel free to use if the content helps you out in any way.
The local competition loves it, they have jumped on the blogs, which is OK, can't do much about it. We have been in wait for the right story and the right guy to get the right angle that would play out well. Roof cleaning in our market is unknown, and in today's economy and housing market, it is like pulling teeth to get people to part with 700 to clean a roof. We got lucky with the editing. We had a nice bounce on hits and some nice inquiries.
Since the segment was on the local news Monday at 5, we have had 150 hits, 80% first time, the story link from the WCPO news website was about 80%. They ran it again on Tuesday at noon. We have discovered many new targets for our services in terms of neighborhoods.
Results were surprising, 5 phones calls, 15 estimates went out yesterday, $12,660 in total. We send them out via email and snail mail with in 12 hours.
This free advertising and promotion has produced some nice prospects, my take is that people that watch the news, those that stay informed, take care of their property. The jobs have been for nice homes, over half the quotes were over 750, and let the up-selling begin.
This story has legs and will be with our company for years, will be on every email and website. The insurance angle plays well.
Thinking outside the box in terms of promoting your business and capturing attention in non-traditional forms will yield returns. Thousands of homeowners now know that roof cleaning is option and hopefully when they consider it in the future they will think of us.
Today we are going back to yard signs, post cards, hangers and Craig's List, well maybe not CL.
