It was a MISTAKE, Gary and I funked up blankstare

We meant well, but we were wrong. RCIA listens to it's members.

Here's a suggestion. Start a thread asking all of the members opinions on how to get the Certified Members to post promo pics in the Certified area. There are a lot of great guys here that I am sure could offer up some great ideas. Might be worth a try.

Good Idea!

Posts in either the certified directory section or the roof cleaning pictures section both show up in the local search results.

However, if a customer finds the certified state directory, and he looks through it for his state, that is where u want to be.

I am very confused about some of the comments that have been and/or being made pertaining to RCIA's certification program. Will someone/everyone please enlighten me with the facts?

Like a lot of you, I got involved in  Roof Cleaning about 2.5--3 years ago. At that time RCIA had the only certification program available anywhere. A lot of people fulfilled the requirements, which were very simple, and became certified. As time progressed, changes were made to give the program more credibility and hopefully develop more interest and partipation. At about the same time, other forums and certification programs came into existence. Some fell by the wayside due to poor management and other reasons. A couple actually "borrowed" (stole) the basic theory behind RCIA's program and modififed it to fit their purpose. Now it seems like any forum that is connected to roof cleaning has a certification program.  Do you wonder why this has occurred, if certification means NOTHING to the masses?

Just about every program out there is a direct copy of RCIA's, some with even less requirements than ours, yet RCIA's program is the only program that everyone loves to attack and de-grade, here and on other forums. If our program is so bad and has no merit, why is it the one everyone copies? These questions have puzzled me for some time now, and I would love an explanation as to why everyone loves to attack the RCIA's program. Anyone care to comment?

Other programs are more expensive, require less time, and generally offer NO benefit once completed except to say your are certified by them. Do they offer a special site for certified members to be listed on along with the orginial certified directory?  I have some opinions as to why these things occur, but opinions are just like butt holes. Everyone has one, and for the most part, they all stink.

Just looking for some answers and in NO way is this a "drama starting" post. Just looking for reasons.

Aaron, you do realize you can post in more than one location if you are doing work there .  I post also in S. Indiana since I do work there and its a 5 minute ride across the bridge.

Well Mike, I guess my question to that would be, What is so much different with the other cert programs that nobody ever de-grades them and talks bad about the program. Must be some major differences??  Price, content, organization???

Glad this got cleared up ... Gary, I read your post, but I'm not aware of other cert programs, probably cause I don't pay much attention to other forums outside of a few, but I don't see everyone bashing the cert program here. I have my doubts about it, and I think it could use from work, but I'd put that into the constructive criticism category.

I'm up this month and will become certified in a few weeks. Will post my promo pics in both sections as suggested.

Well if I'm not mistaken, PWI (NCE) has one, DeLux in Texas has one. UAMCC has one, PWNA has one, all of the above are taught by Rooker and Booz and If I'm correct are copies of RCIA's. Might be wrong, but this nis what I've been told. Oh yea, and don't forget AC's many certs. Every round table lately has had cert. classes. Get certified in a day----amazing.

Not to ruffle more feathers, on this turkey but.

I got soft-wash certified through AC, here on my website you can see a pic of me holding the certification. It was for the lead tech.

http://www.apexroofcleaning.com/ourlocations.html

I had to watch 10hrs of webinars, in order to complete it. Very knowledgeable, I learned alot of stuff from the videos. Nothing against the RCIA but AC offered the certification for FREE! AC's cert doesn't do anything for google rankings, unlike the RCIA. I really like how RCIA shows you certified for that county. It is also much higher on the SEO side of things.

On a brighter note, I just got called by the chief of police as I was typing this. 75 complains about my rock flyers! I threw about 1000. I thought they looked nice.

Why would anyone want those certifications. In my 'opinion" they are totally worthless and a waste of $$$. Easy sell to some, I guess  .

For the same reasons why people buy into this certification.

Actually i have watched the lead tech webinars from ac and they are very informative and when you have employees they are a great learning tool matched with on the job training. People may not ask if you are lead tech certified but they also dont ask if you are roof cleaning certified either.

Dan tell your chief of police to do some real police work and stop worring about how you advertise which is totally legal becuase if it were not the newspaper man would be out of business as well.

Delux has a class that you must attend for hands on. Yes it is in one day but still a little bit better than ours. But not enough merit either. Pwna and uamcc do not have one right now that but i know bill booze is working on something. And one of the requirements of the certification is you must be in business atleast 3 yrs cleaning roofs before you can be certified. As far as AC he only offers training no certification.

In your "opinion", what makes deluxes a little bit better that ours?

It "appears"that Ac offers a little more than training on his site. Maybe I'm still confused.  confuseconfuse

Delux has a hands on class. Ac offers certifications for techs and salesman. Nowhere does it say anything about roof cleaning certification.
