if I was a potential customer,I definetly would not like that.

Unfortunately this is the new marketing direction alot of companies are going towards. I think they are just trying to find new marketing ideas that are competitive in pricing. I think this is more along the lines of email blasting ad campaigns.

Facts are facts, no one gets a text from me unless they have texted in to my key word "WASH" to sign up to get them.  Thats the facts.

This week alone I got two jobs with the text service.

We put "TEXT ROOF to 66782 for Deals & Specials" on everything we do.  Facebook, Twitter, email, our truck, used it on radio ads, etc.  We keep building our list of those people who follow us via texting and when we want to send them a message we can.  Some times we offer free sidewalk cleaning with roof cleaning, $50 off a Siding or Roof Wash, or what ever message we think will work.

Many people use email blasts but email has dropped to a read rate under 30% while texts are currently read at a rate of 95% and within 3 minutes.  People simply like to be communitcated with in a medium the most like, text.  Cell phones are peoples GPS, allarm clocks, iPods, camera, then just have it with them all the time and when they get a text they read it right then and there.  Think of yourself, you probably read a text if you get one while driving even if your not supposed to or if you are in a meeting you pull out your phone and read it below the table, it just is what now works.
