We need help from all members with new ideas to make the rcia become a better place for all. Together we have brought the RCIA to a whole new level, but it doesn't stop here. We need to build it BIGGER!
Each and every one of your ideas matter! We are asking for your voice, as a member! Share your thoughts, your ideas, your vision!
If you have a new idea...tell us!
If you think something should be changed...tell us!
How about a national marketing campaign. If we could all contribute monthly, we could run a commercial on national tv. Not sure what the price would be, but the cost being shared by all of us, it should be reasonable.
How about giving 2 counties as part of being a premium and certified member on the. Org site as part of the membership benefits. Also is there a soft wash section of the forum for house washing instead of power washing?
With millions of iPads out there... I use mine daily for presentations, to process credit card payments, and to read etc..... I really wish for an iPad friendly .org site. On the Certifiedprofessionals.htm site.... There could be a link ----- iPad users click here ------ Placed behind the flash map link..... So if the flash map loads.... The iPad link will not be seen..... (computer user) If using an iPad..... The map does not load, and you see the text link for iPad users. Then the link points to a text page for each state.... Then our listings links.....
National Ad Campaign - this is a great idea! We'll have to look into this. It would be nice to get the attention of HGTV or Ask The Builder. I'm sure CNN or FoxNews has some sort of a building / home repair / saving money segment. If any members want to group together and do some research that would be great.
2 Counties w/ Membership | Soft-Wash Section for House Washing - The two counties is something we'll have to go over and discuss. It's not a bad idea, we'll just have to figure out how to implement it. As far as the soft-wash section for house washing, if there isn't a section, I'll make one.
iPad Friendly Web Site - We are currently in the process of making the .org web site iPad friendly. It does make it difficult because the iPad doesn't support flash. However, we will have something active within the next week or so.
All these ideas / thoughts are great. We need to work as a team in order to make it happen. Brian is right, one person cannot do this alone! If we work together we can get stuff done!
What about the membership icons/symbols. They are all different some guys have 3 dollar signs like Larry above and some have 4. Some have 4 gold coins and some have 6 or 8? Some have stars and some have bullet points. People of the same rank should match I think. I know this was talked about in the past but has been forgotten.

Those symbols are very confusing and they will be addressed.
This is the result of several title changes over the last couple of years and numerous moderators helping to change them. It is a time consuming effort to scrool thru over a 100 pages of members to see who needs corrections.
As time permits, I will work on it. Here is going to be the standard from this point forward;
Guest--------title only
Premium member-------Prem. title and 4 $$$$
Certified Memeber----Cert. title and 9 gold medals
Moderator-----proper above title and 6 red stars
Administrator----Proper above title and 9 red stars

Lots of good thoughts! RCIA has had a BIG online presense for some time and I can see it's getting bigger and better! My special thanks to Chris Tucker, Gary W. and The Uglies.

Same here!! Thanks Chris Tucker,Gary W, and The Uglies.
I don't want this taken the wrong way but, I think there should be more of a training process before becoming a certified member. Just paying a fee and having 100 posts shouldn't warrant the title certified. I am sure there have been guys in the past that have become certified without ever even cleaning a roof. I value the title and feel it should be like earning a degree. You can certainly cause a lot of damage by using the wrong process for cleaning a roof and a guy who doesn't know what he's doing because he's never actually done it, only read about the process, can devalue the certified title. I think there should me a mandatory, on site training, on a roof training before you get the title of being certified. Before I ever cleaned a roof, I called another roof cleaning contractor and paid him to spend a day on site to see the process in action. I pretty much knew everything I was seeing but, there were some valuable things I learned on The job site that you couldn't learn from reading alone. I have been on other forums and they laugh at the RCIA certification because they feel it has no value because anyone Who pays the fee and has 100 posts is certified. I like the fact of being RCIA certified and feel I have earned it and just think to make the title more valuable, it should be harder to achieve. JMHO
