Finding a S Hypochrlorite supplier

Ya I hear ya Ed, but I cantsee  investing in 330g of SH with no jobs booked to start with execpt for the 5 of so practice ones we have lined up. I think Iam going to try and definitley try to arange a meeting with some of these local suppliers. Once we get under way Iam sure we won't have a problem with a tote, hopefully even get a holding tank before the years out. But I got to start somewhere. And ya $4 a gallon is frickin rediclulous!

So I've been calling around today with little success. From the wholesale pool supply company that wants over $4 a gallon.no  To the few chemical supply compaines in my area that either sell it by tanker loads or 330 gallon totes, or the ones that immediately shut me down after they ask me if I was "licensed".

I did get a couple that sold 55 gallon drums, that took my info and said they would have the sales person call me. Since I talk to them at 4pm on a friday Iam not expecting a call to sometime on monday (hopefully).

For all you guys who get it trucked in to fill your own personal tanks, do you have to have some special license? Also if you guys can give me any info on where to find some around the southern NH, northern MA area it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Quinn

You won't be able to get it much cheaper than the $4 a gallon, its more expensive up north. Just keep on looking.

Chemicle supply companies are horrible. I called about 15 with no luck. They wouldn't call back either. Good luck.

Thats a good point, one gave me the time of day.... not to far from me either. Just wanted to know if I was an established company. If they dont call me back I may just have to go see them.

You will get a better price that way! See if he will let you set up a tote and get bulk deliveries!

Think about if you were an sh dealer and you had some nice accounts, like the YMCA might get a few hundred gallons a week, then the local spa gets a few hundred per week for their hot tubs, maybe a nice Municipal account worth thousands of gallons per week. Its hard to have any pull when your looking for a drum here and there.
I remember having my first sit down with my supplier. A fat short guy sitting at his desk with no shirt on, smoking a cigar. He said so many guys like me came in there claiming they would soon need large supplies for pressure washing. Now he calls me all the time asking me to sub out work to his nephew. You should get at least a totes worth of sh, as long as its fresh. Even if it sits around a bit Ive never noticed it weaken enough to matter. By getting at least a tote you may get better service and a better rate. I'd probably go out of business at $4 gal.

Check and see who is suppling your local water companies.

Here in Joliet, they deliver to the city 3 and 4 times per week,  Last fall they quoted me $1.95 per gallon delivered.

I haven't talked to them this year as I do not know where my rig will be parked.  Trying to barter to get my 17' u-haul parked on a high traffic street

Getting those big chem suppliers to talk to you about small quantities is a pain. I'm negotiating with new supplier and looking for better price too.
