i had pricing done today.. she' quoted me 9 cents a pop for the 3 towns i wanted to advertise in... its about 1300 bucks...
1% would be a Chit ton of phone calls..
has anyone had any luck with these? we are going to have before and after pics on the flyer also since up here people are still kinda clueless on roof cleaning....
14,500 is reaching a lot of potential customers. The price doesn't sound too outrageous compared to what I've been quoted for advertising in Valpak mailers. They say only a certain percentage of people throw the whole coupon/ads package in the trash but I just can't pull the trigger on it yet. I'd be very interested to see your results.

i hear ya.. i will never do a valpack or multiple paged publication again.. there's to much luck involved... you have to hope they dont throw it out, then they have to look at every page to see your ad, and then you have to hope they call..
with a direct flyer or mailer, they at least have yours singled out, and have to glance or look at it before throwing it out.

its in the title... Individual post card mailers.... not going to be in a valupak or a circular or any of that nonesense... just a individual post card..

I have no clue what the heck you are talking about, It doesn't say individual post card in the title, and how are you going to mail an individual post card for 9 cents per pop when I think a post card stamp is 28 cents, and even if you used EDDM it's I think 14.4 cents. So I'm clueless what your talking about, because you haven't explained anything, or did something get edited or deleted?
Either way, if you get even a 1/2% return within a 2 week period it would be a full time job just doing sales. Unless you try to stall them which means you'll be striking while the iron is cold. If you get a 1% return then you just wasted time and money.
boy you guys make it extremely hard to keep up lol..
ok i figured everyone would understand what a POSTCARD is... but i guess i was wrong.. as for the amount, the company that does the mailings has the county split up by zones. the zone i decided on is 3 different towns all with in a few miles of them. most of the homes are pretty close in size.. so if i do get overwelmed, i could do quotes over the phone.
As for the price, yes the price INCLUDES design AND postage.. I'm guessing they have a bulk rate because this is their business... anyone in jersey or PA want a contact for them, feel free to PM me... they are associated with the Trend.. but also offer these individual flyers and post cards.. I also use them for the Cafe i own downtown in Philadelphia.
i figured the 1% return would be great for phone calls which is 145 calls from 14,500 flyers. i cant meter them out, thats just not the way the company does it...
i DO have another 10k worth of double sided FLYERS that i am going to drop using the EDD US postal system.. but i was thinking that 2-5k flyers per week would be the way to do it.. my area is very saturated with homes.. most houses have less then .25 acres so they are close together.. 5k worth of homes goes very very fast...
here's a picture of the post cards proof, i had them make a few little changes.. one being changing the red to yellow... people say yellow is a color associated with people spending money.. red is more with anger... so i asked her to change that...
i also add pis of my double sided flyer.
I actually hoped to have about 24k worth of flyers out by april 15th.. i want this year to be HUGE for my company... i have other businesses, and i want this one to be the flag ship. So im dumping A LOT of effort into the marketing part..

I agree. It would be best if they sent out a little over 1200 a month, for a year, so if it really goes over well, you can actually bid and do all the work!

Joe will be fine. If he gets 50 calls and closes half of them he'll do okay. If he gets a lot more calls, he can bid them over the phone if he has too. I personally would have waited to check on the weather. If there's a huge snow storm you may not get many calls. Good luck with it Joe, let us know how it works for you.
Tom I hear you, he will be fine. He'll get calls and make money. If he gets even half the calls I expect him to get, he'll be overwhelmed. Unless he's got 2-3 crews and seperate sales people, its too much. Nothing hurts more than spending hard earned money to get calls that you cant fulfill. Better yet, if you plant the seed in someones head to clean a roof and you cant answer the lead, well than you just spent money for some other roof cleaner who can answer the call.
Im speaking from experience. Whatever he chooses its fine. Its just much smarter to meter the mailing over a few weeks especially if he's just one guy. If weather breaks and the website kicks in, than there's more lost leads.
I hope he gets the response he expects. I wanna do something to target a specific area or two, just can't decide which way is best yet. Flyers have worked in the past, but I wanna do some kinda brochure with before and afters and attention grabbing facts about what our business offers and the results we can provide. Luckily my graphic design artist is also my wife. I knew her college would help me out sometime. I need help with my website though, from what I understand it is vital to my business growth.
His first post asks if anyone had any luck. I personally had a satisfactory result. My area was very targeted. All high end, wealthy areas. His launch date is good, March 15. I would say a half percent is a reasonable expectation if his demographics are good. But his media is yet to be seen. Lets look at his card, then we'll start placing bets. Clyde you will get calls on those pieces. They were mailed a bit early but I know for a fact that people dont bite right away.
