For all the hard work that has gone on, please do not take this personal.
I brought this issue up before this new format was proposed and I voiced my opinion about what happens when you take posts private like has been done. THEY GET DE-INDEXED BY GOOGLE. In this recent update, not only did posts get moved to the private area but hundreds of posts and company backlinks were removed and de-indexed by Google. In return…all that content is gone and content is GOLD to Google.
Here is an example below of a Google search for a keyword in my area and how it has effected the results :
This link is no longer available on Google unless you are a member and no longer indexed by Google. The backlinks are gone and this post is history. This post was from Ray Burke with Spray-Wash here in Tallahassee and even though he would be considered a competitor to me, I feel that by giving this example, it shows that I am unbiased to what has happened. I have researched other areas, in other states, and the results are the same.
Bottom line is:
I am supplementing my income with this business and teaching my son “101” about how to EARN money and ready to hand it over to him soon. The veterans here know Ray with Spray–Wash and know that he is one of the industry leaders. I can give two shits if I lose every backlink from this forum but there are others that rely on it.
This is just my opinion and hope that you open up more areas to be searchable by Google for the members exposure and also to be more viewable by the public.

Chris, I never knew that. Your the SEO guru! While I'm at it, here is a bit of advise to other members. Don't put all your SEO "eggs" in one basket. Links here are great because this site is pretty powerful but also write original content on your site, submit articles to article directories with backlinks to your site in them and write free press releases. Diversity and original content are king!

This occurred due to failure of paying the "one time" re-certificatoion" that everyone knew was coming at 12-31-11. There was a total of 3 weeks grace period granted to allow for anybody that was having a hard time. Some still ignored this requirement.
This members cert. title and his prem membership were both de-activated due to this, along with approx. 40 other members. The posts involved can be brought back along with the links, IF the fees are paid. This is one of the requirements that was agreed to back in April of 2011. Whats the use of having rules if nobody will abide by them, without penalities.
I have to tell you while reading this post I was getting concerned about my past post possibly missing. Gary is really on the ball I am really impressed, without sounding like a " brown nose " This guy Gary may be the best thing Chris Tucker has ever done for RCIA!

Without a doubt. I couldn't have said it better Pat. Hopefully some others have realized the same thing.

They relaize it is NOT YOUR FAULT the links disapperaed!
I was Banned once from PWI, and in a deliberate attempt to try and hurt me, the leadership there at that time removed my signature from over 3000 posts.
LOL, it hurt them more then it hurt me
They lost a page rank 3 authority site that had 3000 + posts there, and their roof cleaning forums page rank and search results dropped like a rock.
I think I dropped one spot for a few weeks, and then came right back.
The solution Guys is to post in the OPEN sections of the forum more.
There have been many changes made to RCIA lately, and Google has not fully re indexed us yet.

Google's motto is "Do No Harm". They know you have zero control over forum links.
Links that have disappeared are not as good as current ones, but there is evidence that Google considers what you once HAD.
Google knows YOU would never intentionally delete hundreds of back links, think about it
BTW, Google recently rolled out another Panda update, and it was kind to the RCIA forum, as well as Apple Roof Cleaning.
Do a search for roof cleaning, see for yourself. BOTH sites increased rank.
