How cold is too cold???

The consensus seems to be 40f, yet our first job of the day yesterday morning was completed while the temps were in the mid to upper 30s. (It turned out great as always  biggrin )

And I recall a post last year which I believe was from NJ, where a roof still had frost on it during the cleaning process!

So, when is it really so cold that the roof mix ineffective?  What's the coldest weather that you've successfully cleaned a roof 'our way'?

When you lay your garden hose down and its frozen a minute later, it might be too cold.

Wow Chris.  After reading that, just looking at your picture makes me cold!  Then again , I did just finish a bowl of ice cream as a late dessert  LOL.

Low 30s with frost....  I'm beginning to wonder does it ever really get too cold?

the problem is the equipment and hoses start to freeze up. I did a roof last december and when we started it was 26degrees out and when we finished it was only 35. But my garden hose was starting to ice over. So i believe theres a limit.

I've steered away from roofs below 40- 50 degrees. I'll see how low I can go this year! Good thread!

Good to know they'll still clean up nicely at those temps, can go till mid december some days, possibly-startup in early march up north?

But I'll draw my limits at this...

I say, let it snow, we are set and ready with the plow rigs. Just need the storms to start blowing in. Been in the teens at night, but this week is in the 40's.

i've noticed with house washing that below 50 sh doesn't have the same bite, so I guess you can clean till stuff freezes if you want to put up with a less effective algaecide.
