This might not be the most upscale job posting for roof cleaning pictures but thought I'd add it for a little tip on metal roofs. These were four trailers that the US Department of Agriculture occupies here in Tallahassee. As you can see they are in rough shape and they are getting new siding and roll on rubber membrane roofs. The contractor had us remove all the algae before the new roof, panels and awnings were put up. (had to scrub these suckers with deck brushes to pursuade the dead algae to come off)
Here is the tip: Metel roofs + soft wash roof mix = bust your azz (Even at a 3/12 pitch, these things were slicker than ice!)
Nice job, Ray!!! Welcome to the world of metal roofs...that's some slick stuff!!! Best thing I've found on metal is to get real agressive with the chem mix and burn the stuff off. Then rinse, and rinse...and rinse some more!

Here's the thing...they were in such bad shape that pressure washing was out of the question because of possible water intrusion. All the roofs had multiple patches that were dried out and cracked, the walls were detaching from the 2x2 framing from broken fasteners and the windows looked like they were about to fall out. The contractor said it was going to cost more in renovations than to replace them with 4 brand new mobile trailers...more hard earned tax dollars at work!
