Can anyone tell me how I can stop from receiving an email notification everytime someone posts?  My inbox is getting bombarded with emails smile.

Unsubscribe to them , that is the only way you get notifications

Maria, try this:

Go to your profile and select settings.  From there ensure that 'email digest for new topics' is set to "none".
