Good morning, I am happy to be a member of the RCIA.I have been part of the roof cleaning industry since 1995.At almost 65 years old one might say that I am one of the original pioneers of this business.In 2004 I sold Mallard Systems and retired.During that period of retirement I was able to help my son AC Lockyer in the growing of his Co. Terraclean and enjoy the lifestyle of retirement at the same time.Well as things sometimes go,it was necessary for me to take back Mallard from the people I sold it to.So in March of 2010 I started up a brand new Mallard Systems and through alot of hard work and a serious investment and above all much help from God we are now adding our 5th truck and will be adding #6 by year end.Mallard Systems services the entire state of Florida and is now doing residential and commercial cleaning.I look foward to absorbing knowledge and wisdom from all of you younger guys out there.I will be happy to share any of mine with all of you if you desire.As you are probably aware we cannot compete with the smaller Co's out there and we don't try.Our larger overhead forces us to sell at a much higher rate schedule,so as a result we are keeping prices higher and our extensive marketing budget(10k per month)stimulates the Florida market and this benefits everyone in the business.Well enough about Mallard.Everyone have a safe and fun weekend.God Bless, Al Lockyer SR. Jump the shark means the forum was start to go down hill. Comes from when Fonzi on Happy Days was going to jump his bike over a shark. Welcome Al, good to have you here.

Welcome Sir! I'm 63, so we are in a similar boat!
With your background, I'm sure you will be a real plus to our community!
Glad to hear you charge a good rate!
I just came home from the movies at Port Charlotte and passed 3 signs that said "ROOF CLEANING $135.00" one right in front of a devolopment near me I've worked for years!
These are all tile roofs that run over 2000 sq ft under roof each and I get $400 -$500.00 each and that's cheap!
Unfortunately, for the small business guy like me {Just father and son}
These lowballers end up making a mindset with homeowners on what a roof should cost to clean.
Of course, they go out of business in 3 months, but leave their pricing damage behind.
I haven't missed a days work in a long time, but I can't get the prices I got back in the 1990's
I'm rambling! WELCOME!!!
