I purchased 2 of these pumps from you lori last fall as back ups and my Delavan 5850 finally stopped working cause the pressure switch gave up after a year and a half, so I installed the everflo and while I was circulating my mix for about 10 minutes your Everflo quit, so I installed the second everflo, and it did the job that day but the very next job the 2nd everflo died, I don't have much use for your everflo pumps, and would not recomend them, i wish to send them back to you and replace them with the Delavan 5850's , are you going to take these two pumps back ? please let me know.

these pumps are not even close to a Delavan pump I bought 2 and they both died , the first one in 10 min the second lased 1.5 hours, so I'm very disapointed in the Everflo pump, and my 5850 lasted 18 months with no issues other than a pressure switch , but I replaced it and now the old 5850 is in operation again

You will probably not get your money back. Go to pressuretek.com and deal with bob. He will help you out.

The consensus I get is that the Delavan 5850 is one hell of a 12 volt pump, and seems to last a long long time!

I give the 5850 two thumbs up. Iv'e had mine for almost two years, rinse it out with 10 gallons of water and a splash of Dawn every time and it's still running like a champ. I need to get a back up pump and pressure switch from Bob because I know I'm pushing it's life expectancy to the max.

You know, I probably talk with at least 5 different roof cleaners a month (sometimes more), and all are very happy with the Delavan 5850. INCLUDING ex Fat Boy owners!

Some owners of the Delavan 5850 who previously owned Fat Boys, say the 5850 lasts longer! The reason they give is this. The Fat Boy has so MUCH Flow, that if you use a smaller nozzle with it to control run off, the Fat Boy cycles on and off too much, and fails.

Any comments on this, or on how much performance you give up on the 5850 vs the Fat Boy.

I burned up 3 5850's in less than a month when I tried them. Had to use huge orifice tips to keep it from cycling on and off which was way to much flow for the tile roofs. Everytime I tried using a smaller tip I could have cooked eggs and bacon on the pump. Me no like 12 volts no more except for transferring from tank to tank with no tips to restrict the flow. I did however use it on a couple shingle roofs where the flow was appreciated and it ran fine.

I saw one idiot up in Hunters Green here in the Tampa area, cleaning tile roofs with a Delavan Fat Boy Pump.

The chemical run off looked like a freaking waterfall! He had NO ground man, no tarps, nothing!

Oh, he did have the customer running the sprinklers, LOL

I came by a week later, and the place looked like a Lunar Landscape, death everywhere!

I run both the 5850 and a fatboy. When I need distance, or covering a big roof I run the fatboy. When working close to the edge, or smaller sections of the roof, I run the 5850. I ran them thru a accumulator, but the fitting coming out of the tank where the hose hooks up broke. I was pumping the love all over a driveway. Without the tank, the fatboy cycles so much with a smaller tip. The 5850 does not do this as much.
