Camlocks are quick connect fittings that are composed of an array of metals and polymers that are used for industrial applications. They allow a quick change between hoses.
For cost and value purposes, we recommend using the locking polypropylene camlocks for roof cleaning equipment.
Ideas on where to use camlocks:
1. Hose Reel: Place a Locking Camlock on the end of your jump hose BEFORE the reel to BYPASS the love mix and prevent SH from running through the manifold. Usually need a 1/2" or 3/4" Female Coupler and 1/2" Male Plug for this application.
2. Between Lengths of Hose: Use a set of Locking Camlocks between lengths of hose to ADD ON an extra 50' or 100'. Usually use set(s) of 1/2" or 3/4" Female Coupler(s) and Female Plug(s).
3. Chemical Applicator or Ball Valve Set-Up or Gun: Use a Locking Camlock set at your chemical applicator to allow a quick change to a gun/wand or add on an extra length of hose.
4. Transfer Chemicals: Use a Locking Camlock set on the DISCHARGE side of your Delavan, 12V or Roof Pump to change out your 200' chemical hose to a shorter 10-25' chemical hose to transfer chemical to your rig from a drum on the ground.
5. Use your imagination!!!
Locking Camlocks are available in garden hose thread, 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 1.75", 2" and larger!!!

Camlocks are a great addition I agree. Thanks Lori for posting pictures of the breakdown on different setups. Gives me a better idea on setting up my hoses a different way. As always you and your family are great at helping out!
the camlocks are a great thing. Just make sure you have a supply of gaskets for them, and I would recommend using safety straps around the locking bars. They are a velcro strap that will prevent the locking bars from coming apart when you don't want them too. These are used extensively in the chemical industry.

The ones PWP sells have the built in locks. Notice the silver little button right above the pin that holds the bars in place. Works great.
I see the locking pins, I have also seen the locking pins fail. All I am saying is for a small cost, you can be sure that you do not mistakenly dump chems all over the place
How do you keep these pieces of junk from leaking? The least amount of stress or bend and they leak like crazy. About ready to go back to my old way. Are bigger (thicker) gaskets available?) where from?
The only place I like to use the poly camlocks are before the hose reel because the stainless steel swivels I were using would eventually rust and leak.
I'm looking forward to trying Lori's new poly swivel.
