Roof Stain Removers, Wilmington NC's only RCIA Certified Soft Wash company, is up-grading to a box truck. We bid on an F-350 dual rear wheel truck with a 14ft. box and our offer was accepted. It has a 7.3L diesel, a C-6 automatic transmission, and a Dana 70 rear end. Here are some pictures.
This will replace our F-250 Super Duty and 16ft. enclosed tandem axle trailer. The trailer was sold locally, and the F-250 will continue to be our sales truck for the time being. We feel pretty blessed to be able to do this and we'd like to thank Chris Tucker and the other fine folks at the RCIA who have helped us along the way.

Good luck with the truck. I also have a old Uhaul. Its a good truck to work out of and you can't beat the price. I've had mine for a year and it has paid its way.

You cannot beat a traveling billboard. It should be great for branding. In this service, like others, it's the name people remember when they need a service.
Nice score Art! After you get your art work done you can park it at grocery stores, Lowes, Home Depot or high traffic areas on any down days. Hang out to answer questions and hand out pamphlets!
that truck sits low to the ground it will be nice and easy getting in and out of too!
Good Point Clyde! I feel like a Monkey crawling in and out of our 2003 F 450
Oh it looks like it has the pull out ramp to walk up and down, sweet. However I still appreciate a flat bed that you dont have to get in and out of, you just walk around the truck, and You can put so much more stuff on it too since you dont have to walk through it all, and the equipment gets proper ventilation, I once burned up a brand new motor in a box truck due to not enough ventilation.
How much did that go for? I'm interested in picking one up, too, but was worried about the mileage, etc..
Good luck, keep us updated on your progress!
Phil Go to Uhaul.com. Find a truck in your area and go look at it. You can look up the truck records on there site or ask them. Offer them 1/2 of the online price. Don't deal with the uhaul outlet. I paid $2100 for mine. It has a rebuilt 454 and a rebuilt tranny. The only problem with my truck is the front end. I burn up tires. But I buy like new used for $40 a tire. They all need front end work.
Phil-I got lucky. They had reduced it to $2100, but the lady at the outlet told me to make an offer. I offered $1000. They countered with $1300 & two new batteries. I countered with$1200 and two new batteries, and they accepted. The only downside is that it's three hours down the road, but I'll pick it up on Tuesday. I plan on putting one or two roof vents on it like my trailer had. I also contacted someone at fiverr to make up a logo. If it's good, I'll use it. If not, I'm out $5. Either way is fine.

You did good Art. If it brakes down. Don't fix it buy another one.

We finally had to leave the back door off our Box Truck, the fumes were so bad!
That's a 249.00 Maaco paint job (we bribed the painter to put some extra clear coat on it) and a 350.00 Vinyl Lettering Job. Good Old Black and White with a little Red, for maximum readability. Got at least one extra job a week from this truck, sometimes more!
Harder to work out of then a flatbed, but not bad at all. Since the hose reels faced backwards, you simply walked out the hose you needed for each job.
I also have a U-Haul and it has paid for itself time and time again. I would recommend some non slip paint at the last 2 feet of trailer and rear step, that is if the inside is aluminum like mine is. It gets really slippy sometimes and does not feel so good when your shoulders hit the pavement before anything else. These trucks fit a lot of stuff in them and they nice to work out of also.
We have shelfs on one side and a bench on the other side. The only thing that touches the floor is our mixing tank so every few weeks we slide the tank out and hose out the truck. We did not do anything to our floor it is natural wood. The attached PDF is what it use to look like inside when we got it. I do not have a current picture.

We named her Big Bertha, 'cause she ain't dainty. She went to the repair shop for a once over and some fresh Rotella. They gave her a clean bill of health, except for her alignment so we took her to the alignment shop. They straightened her out and she is currently in the boby shop getting all prettied up.
Big Bertha has had a name change. Due to a mix up at the paint supplier we opted to go with red instead of green, so we changed her name to Big Red. The name change will not affect her appearance, she will still end up beautifil altough we don't beleive she'll ever be dainty.
