Had a guy call Today freakin on me! Says we got a problem! All my plants in the front are dead. You told me you would protect everything and keep them watered.
Guy wasn't there when we did it/Sir I sent you several before & after Pics along with a video. You can clearly see the plants were covered and watered. I will be there right away.
I expect to be looking up a good landscaping company to replace everything and when I get there he has a few yellow leaves on his hedges and leaves fell off his ficus!! WTF!!!
Now this is the area where he has gutters. I take him around to where he has no gutters and there is nothing??
I tell him no problem I will apply miracle grow and heavily water them and they will be fine.
So I stood there in the rain for a 1/2 an hour watering his hedges.
Aaron, you addressed a fear of mine. I killed a mature, perfectly healthy Azalea bush. It was completely my fault, and it was a lesson learned. The bush was directly to the side of the downspout. That downspout wasn't bagged, and the mix could have been thicker. I've learned from that and have adjusted.
Should have put a hose up that spout and let it run for a time before I began, is what I was told.
Do you recommend taking pictures of the foundation plantings before the job? Do you do that with each job? I don't know, it would seem awkward, but it would help to resolve any issue of culpability before and after your application, in they were dying before you got there.
Does Miracle Grow work to revive a plant that absorbed SH?

Thanks.
Watch you have to watch out for is the HO who is a crook and wants something for nothing. Last year after I completed a job (2 days later) get a call from the HO who says all his landscaping is dying. I go to his house and see several bushes that have winter damage from where he shoveled snow up against them. Already "dead brown" and brittle around the bottom. Called my insurance co. who sent an adjuster out. This guy was a nutless fool. He agreed to pay this liar $3100.00 and to this day the plants have not been replaced and pretty much have grown back into healthy plants. Between the HO and the insurance guy, I don't know who to shoot first..
None of the damage was caused by me, but the insurance guy said its cheaper to settle than defend it in court. Cost me $500.00 in deductible. I was/am pizzed.
That's exactly what I'm talking about, Gary. A couple of those right off the bat could be very discouraging.
How do you defend against it? Take pics before and after? You'd need to have a way of verifying the date of the before photo. How could you do that? Oh, just shoot a pic of the dirty roof I guess.
Photographing before the work could be awkward if the homeowner is watching.
Don't really matter if the insurance company sends a nutless fool out to process the claim. Most don't want to go to court and are afraid to call the HO's hand on the lies.
