As soon as you can once you sell the job. People want it when they want it. Something breaks down they will put you off.

When it is sunny and hot, your SH will work faster and provide you quicker results. However, it can be much easier to cause landscape damage when it's sunny, dry and hot. Good idea to rinse even more.

The sun will make the mix clean considerably faster, as long as you don't let it dry out. Just keep the plants wet and saturate the ground near all plants in dry weather especially!

The best time for you is a cool sunny day.
The best time for longevity of a job is right after summer rain season ends in Florida. Summer / rain is the best growing time for algae. So, if it's removed at summers end, it will have an extra 6-7 months before a new aglae growth is likely to start. It takes 3-5 years before the algae actually shows up black though.

We work in Florida.  During the heat of the summer I try to get my jobs started by 8 am..  If I have to cllean in the heat of the day, I have my ground guy wet the roof ahead of me to cool it down.  If you don't the mix will dry out quickly and you may have to re apply.  But most of the year I can do it all day long without wetting it down.

I tell my customers the best time to clean it is when they're tired of looking at it,..doesn't matter what the season,..Spring, Summer or Fall,....

Ideally I prefer,...70,..cloudy and NO WIND, Ha,Ha... The mix easily stays wet long enough to work and has a chance to pull more dead GM off the roof as it slowly runs off,..easier to take care of surroundings as well.

It is best when it is at least 60 degrees and up, the colder the slower and the warmer the faster. I clean roofs all year around but in January - March when we get hit with cold fronts that dip into the 30s and 40s it takes forever to clean white tile or white shingle while darker colors from greens, reds and browns always clean better all year. Still though if it is cold out expect to spend more time on even the darker colors or schedule the roof cleanings for the early noon when the sun is out since that helps activate it better.

Also, I have seen in the past while working at Mallard guys spraying hot mixes with the thought that it cleans faster. Like 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100% which dries faster than a lighter mix, I usually spray a 35% mix give or take and always did more roofs using less SH, plus they never rinsed roofs so the salt from the hot mixes left a shiny crystal runny look on the roof and just looked ugly, not to mention it burns plants and irritates eyes and sinuses with a respirator on.

The more water but not too much water will help it work longer before evaporating or drying out quickly like a hot mix does.
