Sunbrite Supply Gutter Ball, your thoughts on this (video)

Guys, there is a video of this Gutter Ball in action on this link: http://sunbrite.stores.yahoo.net/gutter-ball-cleaning-tool.html

Does it look like it could possibly be damaging to a roof? The video obviously shows the gutter ball working well to blow debris out of the gutter, but it looks like it is spraying high pressure water directly upwards and onto the shingles.

What are your thoughts and do any of you have experience with this product?

I seen the gutter ball before. Water to clean gutters is just too messy, and there is the downspout issue too.

Mike, that was my thought, too... Downspouts are clogged nearly every time I go to clean gutters, so you are bound to put a ladder up on either (or both) sides anyway.

I don't know man,..looks like more effort and mess than just using a ladder and your hands. Sticks, twigs and other gutter mess also gets wrapped up on the gutter supports. I don't think there is really that much pressure is hitting the edge of the roof,.I think the pressure would mostly be going sideways if used properly,..I'm sure some would get sneak under,..but not enough to hurt anything, considering it's only done once or twice a year.

Everything can't be made easier.

Jeff

I bought this and I like it.  I throw a wand extension either 3',  6' or 24' depending on what it calls for.

I talked to the inventer of gutter ball in South Carolina. the original design shot water left and right. Hie new design actually aimed the nozzles slightly towards the rear of the gutter and cause the water to swoosh out of the front. Its not a bad design but it seems to make such a hot mess. Plus Im done spending $150 to find out somehting doesnt work like it says it would.

Yes Jeff, they are mini turbo nozzles. I only used it twice so far but I really like it. The gutters were pretty jammed up and this thing wiped em right out. I took a ldder up to check the job and I must say it was satisfactory.

I have the gutter ball and I'm not crazy about it. Its hardly worth the hassle of taking an extension pole with me. If the roof is not walkable and I'm going to wash the house anyway, then and only then do I consider using the gutter ball. It does work, its just a little bit more of a workout, and little more of a mess, and a little bit more inconsistent in its effectiveness on downspouts compared to other methods.
