Want your opinions on cleaning these buildings
Permalink

Just need to know if I'm loosing my mind here. Just found out I was underbid on cleaning these two properties.

Estimate includes curbs adjacent to bldg. ( not over whole parking lot), sidewalks and building exteriors. Work to be done on weekends no to interfere with business traffic. Keep in mind the multi color bldg. is all one building, not three separate ones.  Buildings will be soft-washed, concrete will be pressure washed

I'd like to know the ball park of what you would charge to clean these bldgs., then Ill post my bid, and then Ill post my lowballing, egg sucking, job stealing competitor's bid.

PS. I already thought Ia was WAY too cheap, but did the bids in the wintertime when biz was slow, and bank account was low!

amazing, 24 views and one opinion!! Thank you, Ed!! Just as a heads up, Tallahassee prices won't support anything close to that, sadly

199.99 and that is my lowest offer!

Wow Ray , had the same issue just last week not nearly as big, but I was twice as much on 45,000 ft of Barrel Tile, the guy went with the guy at half my price.
Just wonder how many tiles will need to be replaced. The roof repairs may bring it up to my original price.

As far as your bid, that is a huge project, can't call it a job at this point.

Well, apparently going rate for BOTH of these buildings here in my lovely town is.....get this...are you ready..........$3,600...yup $1,800 each. I am friggin' speechless.

Damned if I'm going to go broke while out there working like a dog! Just had to vent on this for a little while. I was just under 10K for both.

My bid did not include window washing, or roof cleaning. Funny part is... it was a window cleaner that took the biz from me. Feel like I should call him when its all finished and let him know he left abut 6,300 sitting on the table while he worked for minimum wage or less.

I wouldn't call him...let it go for a couple of reasons. One..He may figure out he screwed up and walk off not finishing the job. Two ...If he does figure he screwed up but finishes the job he now has a ball park figure on what others would charge giving him the ability in the future to under bid you again, but make a profit.

$3,600?? WTF?? No wonder I can't win any commercial bids with lowballers like that out there. The worst part about that is if he actually does a halfway decent job, then that's the price range they will be looking for. BTW... Shouldn't this probably be on premium side? Just a thought. Jon

I would call him and tell him that he left $20k on the table. That way you make him feel dumb and he will over bid next time biggrin.gif Jon

Not just in FL. I bid a job for 4 - 5K. Was out bid by a guy 70+ with his son for 1K. I would rather sit at home living off credit cards & home equity than work that damn hard and make a few hundred dollars! I think I'll be called in a few weeks though.

I would have bid over 6k for each of them. I have found that some people just bid things to try to get exposure and end up not finishing the job, found out that they were not equiped to do the job.

Do you guys bid a job like that by sq foot? It would be hard for me to give a price on those monsters without measurements to base my decision on. Either way man, that stinks that you were under bid by such a huge amount!
