I have a small job this weekend and I have 25 gallons of SH left from last season. It's been in the drum and sealed the whole time, but it has been exposed to the elements since it wasn't stored in a climate controlled area.
The last time I used this SH was mid November, 2010. Should I dispose of these 25 gallons, or is it probably still okay to use?
Is there a quick test I can do to test it?

Phil - I had a drum sitting outside since November, and it was still good very recently. Then again, I had it tarped and it's in a blue poly tank vs opague.
If someone really wanted to know how potent their SH was, seems like this would do the trick?
Ted, I'll take a chance on it, haha. I rubbed some on my fingers, it did turn milky, but it is also cold out right now. It is in a blue drum, so hopefully it's good. I missed the smell, it smelled like money!

Should be easy enough to find a sidealk full of GM.
Splash a little on that. If it doesn't turn white and clean it off... then it isn't hot enough for roof cleaning.

Wooo, that is some good stuff! That SH was 3 months old and took the abuse of the elements all winter and still came out kickin' when I cleaned a roof this weekend. Much much better than the SH I used to get from my previous supplier.

The roof I did in Calvert week or so ago was with last years SH. I strengthend the mix by a half gallon per 5 gallons. Did touchups 3 times till the roof was perfect.
