Potency of SH after sitting for a few months
Permalink

I cleaned my first roof of the year today.  The SH that I had was from the last 55 gallons that I purchased Nov. 15th.  I was concerned as to how effective it would be after sitting for 3 months.  I had 17 gallons of SH and decided to add 15 gallons of
H20 along with ammonyx Lo and gave it a try.  It was 48 degrees out with a wind chill of about 43.  The mix worked great.  I had to spray  a light 2nd  coat on some of the most infected areas but I was surprised at how effective it was. With the cold weather we have had in NC this year I am sure this helped to preserve the SH.  I attempted to clean the exterior of the gutters with F13 but just couldn't get them clean.  I used a 1 to 5 ration and this still wasn't enough.  Has anyone run into this problem.  I assume it needs to be a little warmer to effectively clean the exterior of the gutters.

Hey Mark,

Glad to see you got some work in this cold spell.
I still have 30 gal. in my tank. I will be using for house
wash next week if it stays in the 50's or better.
As far as the gutters and the F-13, it should be warmer
in order for it to work its magic.

Yes the colder it is the more difficult it is to clean the gutter.

The F13 will work much better at warmer temps. It really isn't the best below 50 degrees.

scrubbing gutter should only be sold and done in temps of 55degrees or better other than that it just will not work.

Or make your own gutter cleaner using hot water.

It's amazing how much more effective guuter and concrete cleaners are above 100 degrees.
