simple chemical question

well as you all know that the east coast is getting lots and well lots of snow!
and i see home owner putting deicer granules on there shingles to try to melt off the ice build up.
This spring I've got a few houses to start cleaning and i'm concern if there will be a reaction with chlorine and salt granules.
what signs should i see if there is any reactions.
Or is asphalt shingles tough enough to handle these chemical elements....?

Thanks
T.B.D.

Hey Steve,..there will be no issue with the products interacting,...as liquid hypo is salt based.

Yes, Jeff is right.

Make sure you either bag the downspouts or plug the downspouts and flush them with water really well to dilute it down to safe levels.

The increased amount of sodium on the roof increases the risk of sodium poisoning to the landscaping, so you'll always have protect the landscaping.

I would also figure by the time cleaning comes around the deicer granuels would have lost almost all its strength if not washed off.
