I get very excited when I get a call and I see a roof in this shape. A customer will a most always feel they got there moneys worth. When I get nervous is when I get the call for a roof or house wash and it's not obviously dirty. Then I have no idea what they'll expect.
Check out this roof. Notice the repair at the right side of the chimney that was done before the cleaning. The roof was so dark the roofing company used a black shingle for the repair. The difference in the appearance of the house was remarkable but the customer complained that it didn't come clean enough. There are some people who will never be satisfied.

Man Larry,..that is probably the biggest difference in a roof I've ever seen.
The customers probably forgot what color it was also,.. How many applications did that take?
Jeff
I can't remember how many apps it took. That was actually a few years ago. This customer actually called me a couple months later and told me her power bill went down from trying to cool her house. LOL...Having a Roof that reflects the heat from the suns rays really can make big difference.

Ed, when I get a call for a house wash and I get there and it doesn't look that bad,..I simply tell the customer that there won't be a dramatic difference when I'm done,..just because it's not that bad to begin with and then I drop it,...most already know that,...I've run into alot of home owners over the years who value upkeep.
I remember a long time ago I said to a customer " I really don't see any dirt" And she said,.."No, and I want to keep it that way" Ever since then I stopped talking myself out of jobs. Because before that I felt like you,..and was afraid there wouldn't be any noticeable difference.
Chances are Ed,..If the house has been there for more than a few months,..it's gonna have some amount of dirt or mold on it.
Yea Bill, I hate moss and lichen,...I work in certain developments and it's just one house after another like that. I really don't even like doing them,...moss and lichen can degrade the granules and dark spots often occur when trying to remove it. Moss will sometimes just roll off,..but lichen HANGS on!!
I just sell these as a spray and kill, and time will have to do the rest,..and some people don't like hearing that,..but I simply say,..should've been done a long time ago and I can't promise anything about the condition of the roof.

OK, Now y'all got me going through years of old pictures. LOL...I really can't seem to find too many really, really bad Shingle Roofs that we have done because the majority of the Roofs we Clean are Tile.
Here is another Tile Roof that I remember took 3 coats of mix.
