From now on, only 4 Links allowed in Signatures, NO more. Guys, the LESS links you have in your signatures, the MORE value Google places on these links! I have seen some of you with 8 signature Links, and it is making the Forum look Spammy because the link text often exceeds the post content ! So pick up to 4 signature links, and no more! Another thing, it is a waste of forum space to link your website as follows www.americawash.com and then do this roof cleaning america as well! A naked link like www.americawash.com is almost worthless, name the link for your main keywords, and remove the naked links! I work real hard on the SEO of this forum, and I will not see it destroyed by those of you who may think this practice of stuffing links in their signatures is harmless. Paehaps some of you meant well, but now you know. Links are Links, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, whatever! You get up to 4, no more! Many high Ranked Forums allow only 2, because it bleeds link juice from all of us!
Chris, while I'm the first to point out that I'm a dumbazz, how did you educate yourself on all the internet stuff? I grabbed a couple of library books, but I'm so far back it's pathetic. How can I educate myself on this sort of thing without waiting for the fall semester at the local communtiy college?

Well, it all started out about 10 years or so ago. I wanted a website because someone else had one, and I asked a friend to hook me up. He wanted 2500.00, and I asked him why so much, and why I could not do it myself. he told me it was "too complicated" for me!!!!!! Wrong Answer !!!!!!!
I waded through TONS of bullchit on the Internet, until I learned what worked, and what did not. IOW, I taught myself through doing, and made many mistakes along the way. I am still learning, because SEO is constantly changing.
I hung out (still do) on SEO Forums, and have several Guru's I consult when I need answers. I suggest Digital Point Forum, Small Business Briefs Forum and Google Webmasters Forum as a starting place for those wanting to learn more about SEO. The Blumenthal Blog, and Matt Cutts from Googles Blog are great too. I do not believe in Black Hat SEO, avoid it unless you want to get busted.
yeah i'm really in the dark with all this seo stuff. i'm an ex computer tech but i'm not familiar with internet stuff.
Your Merchant Circle link is naked, nearly worthless for SEO.
Suggest you rename it to reflect your keywords, like roof cleaning wherever you service in new york. Naked Links suck for SEO, especially when they are duplicated in your signature. This confuses and pisses off Google, because you are telling Google your merchant circle page is about roof cleaning somewhere in new york, then you put it out there naked again! Remember, LESS is MORE when it comes to Signature Links, because every additional link bleeds off page rank.
Another trick others may not know about is to purchase more than one domain name. This is kinda' like cloning your website. Owning the preferred name for any given area is a big plus in taking away from future businesses that may be competition.
