@Chris - I'm using the free service so far, but will likley spring for the upgrade to get listed in every city in my state soon.  This is due to all of the positive feedback from the other RCIA members on MC in general.  Others with more MC experience will hopefully chime in for you.

Thanks to everyone that has left a review.  I still have one or two to do in return - haven't forgotten.  Thanks to everyone's support, I've quickly shot to the #1 listing for the state under one set of key words, and I'm in the top 3-4 for another primary key word set.

And to really keep it entertaining, a fellow VA based RCIA roof cleaning company (Brett with Blue Ridge Roof Cleaning) and I have turned this in to a friendly competition - getting the top spot in MC and trying to keep it.   It really keeps it fun!

I don't use the paid service on MC.  Use the blog and use it effectively. When you blog a lot and use the right keywords, it will help in any state search for roof cleaning that someone performs. I have been very lax in my blog posting, but I posted so frequently in the past that my blogs still rank very well. Don't pay if you don't have to. Use the blog and capitalize on the great search rankings that MC give you.

Thank you for the info, I set up my free account and already saw it on page 2 of google! I've been steadily working on getting as many legit backlinks out as possible. I also read that answering the questions on yahoo answers etc with a link posted will help dramatically.
The free website that Abhi with clean marketing did for me has only been live for 2 weeks and it's already the number 2 spot on google for my local market. Now all I need is a great content heavy website to get the phone ringing (no offense to Abhi intended)

Stay at it Chris - results are fast as you've seen.  I've only been on MC for a matter of days, and am already on Google page one with MC for at least TWO major keyword strings in my area.  And it's free!   Next, to get my Google Local ratings WAY up there per some wisdom that a wise roof cleaner passed along to me very recently. 

Then in late winter, I guess I'll spring for PPC too.   Playing to WIN in Northern Virginia. wink.gif

Merchant Circle was responsible for the majority of my work when my web site was new. MC drove all of the traffic to my site in the beginning. Internet is king guys. Spend your time researching internet traffic and how to get ranked. It will pay off!

I got a call from someone at MC yesterday, she wanted $75/month to drive traffic to my site. When I declined, she offered the first month free and then $95 or so/month. When I declined again she was noticably less friendly. After that, I went ahead and placed an ad on freeclassifieds.com under Home Improvement. I emailed them and suggested that they add a roof cleaning category, but I haven't heard back yet. Posting there is free so feel free to add that site to your list of free sites. Obviously it wouldn't hurt for them to get a few more emails suggesting a roof cleaning category.

Pretty Impressive to go to number 2 in 2 weeks!
Remember,, as long as you are in the first page of search results you are good to go.
CONTENT will win the war for you. You can't stop a shopper from clicking on other websites, so yours must have the most compelling reason for them to call YOU.

Absolutely, my website is ranking high in my service area, abhi did a great job optimizing it for search engines and the link juice here is rocking it too. Now all I've got to focus on is really beefing my site up with good strong content.
