We add a little Simple Green to our mixes I believe it is a great cleaner and it takes away the chlorine smell. have actually had several customers comment that they liked not have that bleach smell when we were done.

Hello there FurlongsCleaningServices biggrin
1st off, of course, I'm sure you know that Simple Green is not the kind of "GREEN" that is eco-friendly? It's just a name.
But still, how much Simple Green does it take to cover the chlorine smell?
How much do you add to a 100 gallon tank mix?
I tried it many years ago and even 1/2 a gallon didn't cover the smell.
What I did notice, is that the S.G. started killing the chlorine strength within a few days, if left to sit around. S.G. does react with SH, unlike something like Ammonyx lo or M.
I'd be interested in your info.
Thanks,
Chuck

Hey Rick,..if it's working for you thats good. The amount your adding may not be having an adverse affect on the mix, especially if you're using it and not letting it sit around.

Just want others to know though what Chuck said is correct about it weakening the mix. Simple Green is butyl based and it's not compatible with hypo. And enough of it will weaken the mix, and eventually probably start to put off strange vapors.

If you have nothing to share, as you have stated. You should certainly be banned immediately! Not to get even with you disbelief but you are abusing this site by coming here and gleaning all you want from us and blatantly stating you will share nothing in return. So, I don't know how it's done, but some moderator should show you the 1 way door OUT!

Just reading some posts and found this one again.

It irks me to think this guy is still able to come here and take, take, take and blatantly stick to his above words

"I never share my cleaning methods with competition."

Why let a guy like this stay and do nothing but leach off of our hard earned knowledge?

I don't get it? That's not what RCIA is for?

Chuck

Actually Jeff, believe it or not, there are some US Patents that reference mildew cleaners made with SH and Tertiary Alcohols (Butyl and Iso Butyl) like the one in Simple Green.

I feel your pain Chuck. LOL That is why we need to clean up this open side. I have stopped posting things I have found for that reason. I don't feed into these myself. If I have something to share, I do it off forum until we get it cleaned up. I don't need to educate my competition either or create competition.

I agree, the open side should be cleaned up and as soon as possible!

It is the only detrimental thing about having a customer come here.

On the other hand, I think an educated competition - to the point of doing roofs without damage, is good!

Otherwise, their damage will create word spreading, that chemical cleaning roofs is no good and I don't want that!

On the other hand, I don't give them every trick in the book either. Not if they are "local" competition!

As to "creating" competition. When asked by a would be roof cleaner - I say "It's gotten to be pretty hard to make a living at this" and do not encourage them to start doing it! no

Chuck

Lately I've had a few people call me looking for info. One was the other side of the state and one guy was local. I tried to be nice and help them a little.

Tom, I agree with helping those that are genuine in coming here, it is about trying to decipher the difference. It sometimes is pretty easy to see some come here want all the answers right awat, then gone. What I don't get is where they get the pricing guidelines to go out and bid the jobs after they get all the other info. confuse

( The info is all over the net, yeah I get that, but then what does RCIA do for them and why would they come here?  )
